  • Is it possible to include a side trip to Sedona from Vegas?

I will be in Vegas this coming June and we will be taking an overnight trip to the Grand Canyon. My wife said she would like to stop In Sedona. Although it appears that it is not far from the Grand Canyon I do not think it would pay to drive from the South rim to Sedona and then back to Vegas or vice versa. Unfortunately my schedule will not allow any extra time. Would it pay to do it or is it out of the question. It looks like if we did it we would basically be driving through it without any time to actually see and enjoy it.

You're talking too much driving. Do the North Rim and save the South Rim and Sedona for a whole 'nother trip.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

If you are doing an overnight side trip to the GC, you will want to linger, enjoy the sights, enjoy the whole experience. It is a long drive from Vegas to the Canyon, and one day is okay, but to add Sedona, well, that makes it a huge feat.

Yes, Sedona is about 3 hours or so from the South Rim entrance, but it is about 5 hours to Vegas from Sedona....so, there is a lot of time in the car, rather than enjoying the places you want to see. I agree with Spence, save yourself some stress.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.
