  • Wyndham’s Credit Pool help?

We get 371k Wyndham points each year.

Years past, I’ve put our excess Wyndham points into the RCI exchange bank. I call for availability, make my choices and pay $189 for each exchange. Pretty straight forward but not cheap.

This year I’m considering putting the 2009 excess into the Wyndham Credit Pool. Don’t know how to use that benefit. I’ve been reading, but there’s much to read.

It sounds good, but I think there are glitches I should be made aware of.

If I place points into Wyndham’s Credit Pool, what value do we lose?

Can I use pooled points along with 2010 points?

May pooled points be used for nightly stays or for a partial week stay?

We wish to juggle one week on the West Coast then jump to 2 or 3 weeks in Hawaii, if available in succession. We plan to use RCI Exchange Weeks, Wyndham availability and Credit Pool points.

Any help about using the pool will be appreciated.

At this moment, your best option is to deposit 2009 point to RCI and credit pool all 2010 point and unless you want to ARP your home resort for 2011, you may want to do that at the same time. But I believe you are VIP, thus you can wait till March to do that. It will last for 3 years from the day you make the credit pool.

You can still use these point for internal Wyndham reservations.

It's too late to put 2009 points into the Credit Pool. Non-VIP owners needed to have put 2009 points into the Credit Pool prior to the start of their Use Year. If your 2009 Use Year started 1/1/2009, you needed to have put your 2009 points in the Credit Pool by 12/31/2008.

Gold VIP owners (different levels) get a up to 6 months after their Use Year Start Date to deposit into the Credit Pool. Platinum VIP gets up to 9 months after their Use Year Start Date to deposit into the Credit Pool.

If you are non-VIP with a Jan 1 Use Year Start Date, you can Credit Pool your 2010 points by 12/31/2009.

Mike, I thought I was in the Wyndham/FairfieldHOA forum!
        Can't get in lately.

        We are VIP.

If I put all our 2010 points into the Wyndham Credit Pool, what have I lost or gained?

May pool credits be used the same as our 2010 points.

In other words, I can spend $39 to pool the points. We then get 3 years to use the credit pool. What changes?

By pooling, do I still get the 25% VIP points discount when booking within 60 days of checkin?

By pooling, do I still get 5 complimentary Guest Certificates?

I read where, rather than Unlimited Housekeeping Credits, I receive one for each 1000 points placed in the pool.

Can anyone think of reasons to NOT place points in the credit pool? Am I missing something? Does everyone do it?

        1. Lose ARP benefit.

You still get all VIP benefits. Including discount, and unlimited HK.

Loss ARP is only one I can think of. The credit pool has been report run short few times, but have not hear it in recent 2 years.

I don't believe the 5 free guest certificates follow the points. They are available for the year the points originated.

I PUT "WYNDHAM COMMUNICATION" for request reason and clicked on Send. Nothing happens.

                        RESORT2ME

                        Points Credit Pool

Points Credit Pool is a great feature to use when you know you are unable
to travel prior to the start of your Use Year. You are able to “Pool” all, or
part of your points and prevent them from going unused.

Once points have been “pooled” they are available for you
to travel into CLUB WYNDHAM Plus res. only.

What you need to know about the Points Credit Pool

Contact the Vacation Planning center prior to your Use Year Start Date
and request that your points are placed in the Points Credit Pool

One (1) Housekeeping Credit is placed in the Points Credit Pool
for every 1,000 Points placed into the pool

Additional Housekeeping Credits may be purchased as needed

In exchange for your points, you will receive an equal amount of Pool Credits

Your Pool Credits are available to you for three years from the date
your points were placed in the Points Credit Pool

A $39 service fee is required for placing Points into the Credit Pool

Reservations using your Pool Credits depend on the availability of
points placed into the Points Credit Pool

When a reservation using Pool Credits is cancelled, the credits are returned as
Cancelled Reservation Points and are not put back into the Points Credit Pool.

Talk to VC, if you move all the reminding points to credit pool, they can move all the reminding HK credit to the pool. It may help to arrange some short stay later.

OK, I have to know. Is the pool credit of everyone's points, not just yours? In other words, someone else could use your points and leave none for your next vacation. I hope I misunderstood that. I don't see that working if others can use your points.

everyone's. remember, your point only work from your use year begin to your use year end. While you may deposit point from Jan 2010 to Dec 2010 and use it for 2009 Trip 2011 trip and 2012 trip. So it have to be everyone's points.

There are situation when there is no point left, but since each group (non VIP, VIP, gold VIP, Platinum VIP has different last day on deposit points, it actually not happen frequently.

A lot of people do deposit points not just few people, so the chance of that happen is low.
