El Cid Vacation Club Points??

We purchased El Cid Vacation Club Points, (I regret) Don't know how we got sucked in, but it happened.We have owned an RCI FL resort that we have traded for 10 years. Now we "sold" that during our presentation, and have 300,000 points.
Is anyone out there in the El Cid points program?? We were told we can trade with RCI as well. I did a search for El Cid and found nothing. Now that we are home again,i have read lots of horror stories and I am very concerned.
Are these El Cid points the same as the RCI points??
I have lots to learn about this....and may as well make the best of it, since it cost us enough!!!

Sounds like you are out of any rescission period so making the best and leaning how to use seems the best way.

It is not RCI point. It is more close resemble Wyndham points. You may want to do some search on this forums in Mexico (Mexico - Timeshare Forums) or Wyndham (Wyndham/Fairfield Resorts - Timeshare Forums). The resort has been selling Wyndham points for a while then decides it is benefit enough to have its own system.

You may want to send some email to members that posted in those thread and identified themselves as owner. My understanding is if you like Mexico style travel, that may not be so bad. But don't know any detail of it.

Sorry to say I did the exact same thing you did, turned in my unit and got 300000 points. Yup and It costs more than I like to remember.

You can use the points with RCI but you have to go through the Vaction club rep, altho I have never tried to use them with RCI I have used them at several other locations with much satisfaction.

It should give you enough latitude for a good vacaton at one of their properties or on their list.
