Hi everyone, I just joined the forums today, and I have a lot of questions about timeshare points. I've been reading many of your posts for quite a while, but I still don't understand things. I would like to buy some points into the Bluegreen system via ebay. The prices seem really good, and Bluegreen seems to offer some pretty nice resorts. If I were to acquire lets say 12,000 points at a "home" resort, and I wanted to split it up into 3 mini stays at 3 different resorts, what kind of fees can I expect? Also what kind of "housekeeping" fees can I expect? My wife and I are planning on going on vacation with my daughter and her family next year, and I am looking at a timeshare with points that we can use every other year. If I decided to buy an annual timeshare later on down the road, can the points and the maintenance fees be combined? These are just a couple of questions for now...I have many, lol. Please share your insight. Thanks, Pete.

Some people use their annual account as if it were a biennial account by paying a year ahead of time; then you can have two years worth of annual points that can be used in any season. When you do that you pay "last year's" prices, so you need to remember to pay the rest when the rest come due. In other words, if I buy my 2011 points ahead of time in July 2010, I'll be paying the 2010 cost. Then when they figured out how much 2011 points are going to cost and send out the bills in October 2010, I need to pay the difference, because 2011 points cost more.
The first year you do that you're paying for two years' points in one year, but if you keep paying ahead every year after that you're paying for one year's points at a time, you're just paying it sooner. Does make you very aware of how much more your MFs are every year, I expect!
