We own a 3 bedroom unit in a summer red week on odd years at Presidential Villas at Plantation Resort. In the past (a few years back) we could split up our one ownership year into two years, one year of these years would be a two bedroom and one of them would be a one bedroom. In the past, we could trade the one bedroom unit way up at another resort through RCI and get a two bedroom unit, now we cannot do this. So is transferring to RCI Points a good idea?
By the way, we are actually having a hard time getting any resorts traded on RCI.com even if they are two bedroom units, it's really hard to find anything at all even if we look in advance with our maximum trading power (18 points on 2 bedroom and 13 points on 1 bedroom). What should we do about this? Are there any specific advantages to having RCI Points? Are there any fees involved in this transfer?
Does anyone have any experience in this matter? The marketing department at Plantation Resort is supposed to call back soon with additional information.
