  • Various Points Club Programs & Flat Points fee to trade in RCI

I made a comment in another thread and figured I should start my own thread. A number of the different points clubs (Wyn, Bluegreen, HGVC,etc) can trade for RCI points and weeks inventory at a preset flat point structure. It seems over the years, restrictions have been put in place with a number of the programs where you need to make a developer purchase in order to get this "perk". I wasn't one of those fortunate enough to be grandfathered from the old structure to the new.

So my question is which of the programs still allow you to access RCI Points inventory through their dedicated Club portal at a different structure without the need of having made a developer purchase? I think HGVC falls into this category but need confirmation. What about Shell? I believe BG and Wyn now have restrictions. What about WM? Club Intrawest or does that trade with II?

I bought HGVC and Wyndham resale and DVC direct.

I can see RCI Points and weeks with HGVC but only weeks with Wyndham.

DVC apparently can get anything as well if you purchased before they changed the rules but now starting this year, resale DVC purchases cannot use RCI, only direct purchases.

Thanks, Chris. With the HGVC, is it always 2200, 3400 and 4800 points (if using to book a studio,1BR and 2BR) via RCI regardless of resort and season?

I know that's not the number if booking an HGVC resort direct. Are there any restriction of trading back into an HGVC resort via RCI? For example, if I were to book a Waikoloa 2Br, it could cost me 7K HGVC points booking direct but if I saw a bulk bank with RCI, could I use 4800 pts to trade into RCI and grab the same? I would be paying the additional exchange fee but saving on points. Do I have that correct?

        No it's not always 2400,3400,4800,5800.
Sometimes it's less if it's off season but unfortunately they never consider Florida off season.

        If it's white weeks it's 1700, 2400, 3400, 4000
        Blue weeks are 1200, 1700, 2400, 2900

You can also do nightly stays. The weekdays are cheaper than the weekends. The weekends end up being twice the points as weekdays and include Friday, Saturday and Sundays.

And yes you can stretch points by booking thru the fixed grid. Many HGVC owners do, but you're still limited to the 1 in 4 restrictions going that way so you'll have to alternate resorts if you do it that way. You can book up to 2 years in advance in RCI so would be great for pulling bulks in hard to get places in the club. I'm not sure how hard any place is to book cause availability seems pretty open if you plan well in advance. I'd say similar to what I see in some of the Wyndhams internally.

That's right! I forgot about that. I know there's been one member that has been quote vocal in expressing her displeasure about that.

Straight Wyndham resale does not have access to Points. But, you can enroll in Plus Partners to get it. There is a flat fee to do so ($2400), but it does not require an additional developer purchase at this time.

I doubt that it would make sense to do so vs. buy a resale in some other system with access but it's an option.

I recall reading somewhere before that you can do something similar with BlueGreen. Instead of "Plus Partners" it is the Travellers Plus portion. Not sure if you can purchase that separately or not and if so at what cost.

I may be out of date but I recall plus partners never got Wyn owners to the RCI points side. All it got you was the RCI nightly stays. (along with some product discounts at hotels and auto rentals) never worth the annual cost.

It's not a points account per se, but it was Points access. Such Wyn owners now have online access to Points via the Wyn/RCI portal.
