That doesn't explain why he was private messaging everyone for a while. Surely a 3g-4g phone would IP back to some point in Hawaii before hitting Sprint in Yorba Linda CA. If that is where he was.

Ok it is checking up that he is using a spront phone and that he is in California Your IP is: 74.54.191.242 IPHacks.com but I would like to know if accessing the web on a cell phone network will that change the location of the ip since it is on the PCS network and not wifi? Right now I say there is a 50/50 chance this is legit and many know me to get all the facts first before hanging someone. If the ip changes on a cell when using there own network then he is a trol if it stays the same them he maybe looking for help.

You checked the first message and I checked the second. The IP, bolded in both our post quotes, did change. (although he is still in CA)

I just went back and checked an IP from a post I made here when I was in Miami. I was tethered and my IP was: 174.252.133.85 which comes up as Tampa but at least it was in the same state.

IPs don't track as well to 3G/4G technology but they wouldn't show California from Hawaii.
