Why would someone looking for airmiles come to a timeshare site???
This is all a bit too odd for me.

As suggested, go to Flyertalk.com. - members there have oodles of miles and free travel vouchers.

All we have here is rooms.

You may want to try Salvation Army, lutheran brotherhood or Catholic Charities.
I'd venture to say that at this moment you might be considered homeless and may qualify for emergency funds to at least get to the mainland where you could drive your way back to New York.
You'd be surprised who is categorized as homeless for aid purposes.

Edit: So based on the previous posts on this thread, I replied tounge-in-cheek (joking). I thought it was a fake, especially when I read the previous posts about the IP addresses elsewhere. However, I just got a real mailing address from a real name in Kealakekia Hawaii.

Does the IP address data show he/she is real or not? I'm beginning to think this request may be legit. And if so, the previous posts on this thread are very confusing, if he/she really does need help.

So do we now start a "help travelers in need" forum ? And who investigates each case to see if it is real or a scam. I think a lot of time and effort could have been saved with a ban when the post was first reported.

That's for you all to decide. I was just trying to lighten things up with a semi-humorous post (ok, maybe not even at the semi-humorous level ), and then was surprised when I got a PM from the OP that appeared that he/she had a legitimate need, and he even supplied personal details. If the OP does have a legitimate need, then I wish him luck. I'm not in a position to help him. It'll take someone with lots of extra money to throw around (I was thinking Frank or JLB... ).

I'm staying out of this one.

What rule was broken that would facilitate a ban? I get it, he COULD have been a scammer, but just the possibility of being a scammer isn't against any rules...i don't really understand how he could be banned for not breaking any rules

Requesting free miles could be considered an ad, so spamming could be the rule broken. Personally, I feel that someone new that even appears likely to be here to spam should be tossed before they get around to it.

                        Agree.

Scam or no, it was inappropriate here.

Whoever this was, scammer or not Frank was willing to at least hear it out.

                            So be it..

I had fun as you know with the Jenny reference. I was singing that song all day long.
