I don't know how it happened but my wife and I bought 10,000 Bluegreen points while in Charleston, SC. It sounded interesting and I was comfortable with the sales team. The thought of joining the timeshare world would never had crossed my mind but I liked what we were pitched. The reorts seem very nice and there are a lot of options through RCI and World Resorts. I don't quit know how it works but I plan on figuring it out and being positive. Did I do the right thing?

You can probably buy the same number of points with the same benefits for less from an authorized reseller. Since you seem unsure of your purchase, I recommend that you rescind immediately if that option is still available and then see what your options are in the resale market. First educate yourself on timeshare systems.

I agree with Somerville. As a BlueGreen owner myself I was almost lured in (spent 5 1/2 hours with the sales guy). I did some research afterwards and was able to get twice as many points for 1/2 the price they were offering buying in the resale market. Still got all the developer perks except the free $299 RCI certificates they were giving which really hold no value. You can get the same thing directly through RCI through with last call vacations. They just had a sale where they were selling various weeks at $199.

Take your time, and do your research. Spend lots of time reading here. BlueGreen may not be your best option. Depending on where you live and travel their may be better options. Many will recommend renting at several locations first, either in BlueGreen or the others.
