  • Travel Partner and using points

In 2011 we used our points to book a hotel in OC, MD they used 70,000 and it cost us $430 out of pocket, so that left about 10,000 points behind for later use. In 2012 we called to do the same thing and we were told the plan had changed and because of who we bought the timeshare from we had unlimited points available to us and we booked our trip and used supposed 146,222 points and it only cost us a $52 fee. This year they tell us we don't have enough point and its not unlimited so we have to pay out of pocket $700 bucks. Please someone tell me whats going on with the points partner program.. There is no way we have ever had 150,000 points so its not possible to pull points from thin air since we only had 10,000 left from the previous year. Oh and when i called to have those 10,000 points kept by paying the fee since they expire in May they said the website is incorrect and we don't have any points left over..

    signed confused..

I think the OP means RCI Points Partners.

Wolves1, ignore the place in your account where it says number of points saved from the last use year. It does not provide useful information. Instead, just call RCI and ask if any points will expire at the end of your current use year.

As for being able to use "unlimited points", there were some resorts (mostly in Mexico, I think) that allowed people to deposit large numbers of RCI Points into their RCI accounts. However, RCI now only allows a limited number of points to be used each year in Points Partners, based on the number of points in one's Points contract for that particular year.

Where do you own? It may be at one of the resorts that allowed depositing lots of RCI Points.

        RCI Points Partners

We bought ours through Premier by Originals yes in Mexico. I am just confused because we have not earned enough ever to cover last years trip so they must have given us the points to stay because of who we bought the timeshare.
