Question re Worldmark points

We have 10,000 WM points. We were considring buying more but didn't know if that would mean an additional maintenance fee or not? Would it mean we'd have to pay a maintenance fee for the points we already have and then an 2nd maintenance fee for the additional ones?

I checked e-bay and maintenance points were listed, anybody know how this would work?

WorldMark has a tiered maintenance fee structure. You pay maintenance fees based on how many credits are in your account. To add credits to your account, you combine them. If you don't combine the accounts, they are treated as separate and do not combine for the lower fee:

5,000 $310.95
5,001 to 7,500 405.47
7,501 to 10,000 499.99
10,001 to 12,500 594.51
12,501 to 15,000 689.03
15,001 to 17,500 783.55
17,501 to 20,000 878.07

If you do buy more, make sure you buy so your points are at the top of the maintenance fees so you get the most value for the price.

At the moment, there is a lot of discussion about buying more WM points vs just renting them from other WM owners as needed. Several people on this board have said that it is so cheap to rent WM points from other owners that it doesn't make sense to buy more points. WMowners.com has a board which is set up just for people renting their WM points. You may wish to check it out.
