  • Fairfield WilliamsBurg the Patriot Info needed!

    Hey Guys
    I found a deal in willamsburg the Patriot's place, 154 K
One is week 15, building 21
other one is week 12, building 31
Both of them pretty much the same price but one have $249SA fee for this year and next year, one is $200 (week 12), so if i get week 15, I have to pay about 100 buck extra. mf fee is both $56.

I went to RCI point chart and i see this
    http://www.rci.com/RCIW/CDA/Function...PointsGrid.jsp

Which one do you think is a better deal for me? is there any other thing that i need to know about this place??

    Thanks you in Advance guys

Hi, I don't know that much about the Fairfield system, but there are some red flags here. Are these fixed weeks? Fairfield is a points-based system, so now they are selling points, but for some older resorts fixed weeks were sold.

If these ARE fixed weeks that you are looking at--they're pretty poor weeks for Williamsburg. There are lots of timeshares in Williamsburg, so the trading power for even the strongest weeks is not spectacular.

If you intend to visit your timeshare every single year, and you will be going week 12 or week 15 forever, then great and you're good to go.

If you want to exchange your week, for Williamsburg you want high summer. That's week 26 to week 34, and week 26 to week 32 would be best.

The maintenance and the special assessments are the same for every week, so you might as well get the best possible week for your money. Watch eBay or check Redweek, because you may well find a good week for very little more money.

Fairfield people, please chime in. I'm not sure if the week matters so much if he is getting the 154,000 points.

The link in your post isn't working, but Fairfield points aren't the same as RCI points.

There's a week 26 on eBay right now. Week 26 usually includes July 4, so it should be the strongest week in Williamsburg. The bidding is at $50.

The 154k points are Fairfield/Wyndham points, NOT RCI points. Based on the FF/Wyn directory, this is a 2BR lockout. Both week 12 and 15 are "High" weeks, not "Prime" weeks. The Prime weeks at Patriots' Place are weeks 23-34. This same 2BR lockout is worth 182k points during Prime weeks season.

I believe the special assessment is only $200 for this resort. The one listing it as $249 or $250, is putting another $50 in their pocket.

Also, both weeks are converted fixed weeks which means if you want to reserve during the 10 to 13 month advance priority reservation period, you will have to reserve your specific week and specific 2BR lockout unit. By doing so, you would use up all of your FF/Wyn points. If you want to reserve at this resort at a different time or any other FF/Wyn resort, you will have to do it during the standard or express reservation periods, 10 months to date of check in.

SGT, whatever the RCI points grid is that you're trying to link to is not the FF/W points that you'd be buying in this auction.

Week 26 does not 'usually' include July 4. Over the long term it is closer to 50/50 between 26and27.

Sorry, I stand corrected. Week 26 would still be a better week than 12 or 15.

If this is a converted week, why is the OP mentioning the week at all? Are Fairfield points contracts associated with specific weeks?

If I make an express reservation or 10 months to date, I can reserve a smaller unit for less point, can't I? In other word, I don't have to reserve the same type of unit everytime i make a reservation as long as i don't use my ARP??

                  Spence!
Sorry, I got confused with the link, I thought it was how much point RCI would give me if I trade my place in for one of their place.

Yes you can reserve any size unit at FF Patriot's Place or any other FF/Wyn resort up to the 154,000 points, subject to availability. Only your ARP reservation is restricted.

Converted fixed week contracts are. Converted float weeks and UDI contracts are assigned point values. For the latter, during the ARP, you can reserve any week or partial week up to the amount of points you have assigned to the specific FF/Wyn resort.

For all types of FF/Wyn point contracts, from 10 months to check in, points are points, doesn't matter from where or how they were created.
