Finally Got my TS! What do i do next with my discovery package?

Alright, I finaly got me 154K at the Patriot place. I have 154K avariable for this year from this place.

For my discovery contract, I have already make one reservation for Dec. I have 57K points left and 300pt of HK that are expireed in Jan1, 2008(according in my point summary). However, My discovery contract is expired in Nov 30, 07 so I just assume my point is expire at this time as well just to be safe.
I know I can extended my contract for a couple more months and may be squeeze some time for vacation but is there any other way to keep these points or do something with it? I'd rather end my discovery contract in Now so i don't have to pay $110/ month
please introduce me to some new options, thanks in advance.

Sorry, have no idea about the discover program, but check with Yahoo Group member Ben-Roy(?), He seems to have looked into that program before.

Using Discovery points

Semper fi! Did you buy your 154k Patriot Place points resale? Then I don't think you can do much with your Discovery points, although you should be able to extend them at least 6 more months. I think we got more 18 months total out of ours. But why did you use your PP points for your reservation rather than your Discovery points? Any way you can change that? Because you can always deposit your contract points with RCI and then have up to 2 years to use them.

But back to Discovery points. If you are still paying on them, I doubt you can cancel the contract this late in the game. And if you do find a way to use them, you still have to pay off your contract, right?

We bought a Discovery package August 2005 and in June we went to Ocean Walk Daytona for 4 nights and Cypress Palms Orlando for a week. We loved OW so much we actually bought there, which we swore we would never do. We have bought on ebay twice so we know the value of resale, but we were able to PIC our deeded week timeshare and the package we now have will greatly expand our options. We're happy with it.

Anyway, because we used our Discovery "equity" (the approx. $3000 we paid for the discovery) when we made our purchase at Ocean Walk, we were able to deposit our remaining 144,000 discovery points into our FF account before they expired. I then immediately deposited them (along with 10k from our original contract) as a red week 2 bedroom with RCI.

So if you bought your Patriot's Place from Fairfield, you can convert your discovery points and then deposit them with RCI. If you bought resale (always a better value!) then you can't.
