After I logged into my points account, I wanted to see the chart of a particular points resort. THEY HAVE ALL DISAPPEARED!

RCI Points Resort Values are GONE!

Hopefully, it signals a LONNNGGGG overdue revision of the frozen and rigged RCI Points nuimbers racket, and maybe the numbers will be more accurate and less subject to overaveraging than at present. But then again, who would ever expect RCI to do anything right?
Have the generic crossover grids for raiding Weeks also disappeared? That's where the worst fraud is in RCI Points' rotten numbers racket.

I noticed this several days ago, but thought it was a website glitch. I noticed that the URL for each resort I was looking at had "Weeks=True" or something similar in the address, so I thought that maybe RCI's "cookies" were telling the server to show the resort directory as it is displayed in RCI Weeks accounts, instead of as it is displayed in RCI Points accounts. (I don't think RCI Weeks accounts see the points values.)
Whatever it is, it is certainly annoying. And, I wouldn't put it past RCI to try to pull a fast one with point values.

I called and asked my affiliate rep. He DID NOT KNOW this fact. He will check Monday as to WHY! When I talked to a supervisor of TA's, she said that the IT department removed it and it would be available again in "several" weeks. Here we go again with their Public Relations Department which is similar to W's lack of ability to communicate.

My own theory is that all RCI computer operations and background computer "expertise" is actually a hands-on junior high school computer class in Indiana entitled "web site construction and operation 101".
Then again, school is already out for the summer, so maybe my theory is flawed..... My alternate theory is that chimpanzees at an "undisclosed location" somewhere in Indiana actually run all RCI computer operations. When the banana supply runs low there, there is hell to pay. But still, wouldn't you like to renew your membership at this time at our special rate????

This was removed from Tug by quackifer - probably going to be suspended again for mouthing . . .
In my letter to my affiliate - "answered" by supervisor in customer communications. The following "problem" was emailed.
Problem #5 I went looking into the RCI Points Resorts for the individual points grid for these resorts. IT HAS DISAPPEARED! I called a VC and she said that it was removed by IT and would be readded again in "several" weeks. I asked, "Why did they do that?" She responded with an "I don't know." I asked for a supervisor - she was busy but she would call me back. She DID call me back and left a message to call me again. (It's Tuesday and have not heard yet) I called and left a message late yesterday. and now on Tuesday. I STILL WANT TO KNOW "WHY"?
ANSWER FROM THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS SUPERVISOR:
We have done “grids” before, and it is impossible to keep them updated with any accuracy at all considering the constant change of inventory. While this programming is cumbersome, you can only imagine what a grid would look like that included all the dates available and unit sizes. But our marketing department may find that a much scaled down grid would work better than a search feature that too often brings up no results. We have shared with them already the frustration members have expressed using this particular search feature.
SOUNDS LIKE THIS SUPERVISOR IS A POLITICIAN.

Thinking of joining RCI
Sorry to drop in out of nowhere as a new member with perhaps what are annoying questions seen multiple times. But . . .
My folks joined Vacation Internationale back in 1978. Two years ago, they purchased an additional week (we now have three in odd years), and my wife and I joined as co-owners buying perpetuity for our account. After attending VI's annual meeting last month, I learned a great deal about the company and came away quite disappointed with management and with some of the details I did not know in the past. Can you say "buyer's remorse"?
Already too long story short, my father just called to tell us that RCI was offering VI members a conversion deal of some sort for just under $3,300.00. With our current point status in VI, this would get us 8 weeks a year with RCI in perpetuity.
We know nothing about RCI and need to learn everything we can from independent sources by tomorrow (11/03) afternoon.
I welcome any and all information others might have.
Thanks,
Jeff

You probably should have created a separate thread for your questions. While I am not an RCI points member, the cost of conversion has been an often mentioned topic. I understand that RCI only charges a $195 conversion fee. Anything above that charged by the individual resort/developer only lines their pocket. Also, if it is RCI points you are being offered, I understand that it is a 3 year commitment, but can be renewed.

The cost is $224.00. $100.00 processing Fee and $124.00 1st year dues.
However, you MUST own or lease from an RCI Points resort.
