Last I hear, you can buy some festiva package retail to roll them into that point program. Your guess is as good as mine what will happen to those points.
Unfortunately Equivest seems doomed to be a third rate system gutted and spurned by multiple owners. The good stuff was culled and whats left isn't of any great value. A small "system" timeshare is about the worst type (except maybe for owning any Wastegate of course - ask me - I own one!) as you pay the costs of bloated management overhead but get very few internal choices. You are left no better off than a weeks owner using RCI/II to get what you want and paying the exchange costs on top of the mini costs. Not recommended especially when there are such great bargains in large, well populated systems such as Sunterra, Wyndham, Worldmark, Bluegreen and on and on. Many are very inexpensive to buy resale.
It will cost you over $3K to convert Equivest points to Festiva points. I am in the process of doing so. Time will tell if Festiva will be a better option, but at least their maintenance fees are lower and they are a growing company.
