  • A Newbie, HELP!

Oh boy, I just bought a 35,000 point condo at South Beach in Myrtle Beach S.C. now the Questions.
    1. If I want to go there next year and not use any points, so i can save them, how much does that cost me?

    2. Also I guess I can only roll over for 2 years without paying an extension for an extra year for a fee correct? So if I don't use my 35k this yeas and then get 35k in 2009, if I don't extend I have to use 70K points in 2010? or lose them?

whew, Sorry for all the Questions and thanks in advance for the help

Which resort chain you bought in?

If it is from developer, you should consider rescind first, than ask these question later.

          So, I am guessing that

you bought an RCI points package??

If so, yes depending upon your anniversary date, your points will automatically
be deposited to your RCI account, and yes they will carry over into next year.

They only can be used within the 24 month window from the day that they are deposited, and the next years points have the same rules, so no you can't roll the 70K into 2010.

This is all based upon some assumptions , that the account you bought has points for 2008, that these are RCI points, etc, otherwise, I have no idea..

          jmho,

          Greg

Thanks, YES the 35K points are RCI points for 2008 so next year 2009 I will get another 35K so I would have to use 70K before the end of 2009?
If I go to this "Home Resort" and don't use points to do so, is there a weekly/nightly charge? Sorry for all the newbie questions, you guys are really helping the fog lift for me, I appreciate the help.

So, have you closed on this purchase?

Do you have your RCI account yet?

The general rules on RCI points accounts are that you are a member for 3 years at a time, that you can reserve your week at 12 months, and that after that you are into using your points for other reservations.

All the rules are online once you log into the RCI points site.

Way too many to try to cover here.

But briefly, any use other than a week will have a nightly cleaning charge. There is a fee for every transaction, trades, points for deposit, extending, etc.

RCI's disclaimer is outside of the login. Try this link

RCI - the largest timeshare vacation exchange network in the world.

and download the point disclaimer. It briefly talk about the charge on every item.

If you don't use point to get in, then it depends on how you get in. If you go directly from resort, the fee may cover all costs. If you get from RCI rental outlet, they fee usually cover all excpet a very high local occupancy tax and some house keep cleaning fee. If you got through RCI last min deal, I don't have point account, but from weekly account RCI nightly stay, it does has all the charges Greg mentioned.
