Question Just signed!!
DUH!!! ... I am continually amazed by those who will pay $7500 for that which they are admittedly confused... the deal will be there whenever (IF ever) you are ready... TIME-OUT!!!... learn first what you are buying... generally, developer/retail purchases are NOT a good deal ... spend the time.... read the postings on this bulletin board...

well, i guess i am not truly confused. i get what you are saying. we had a good understanding when we left, but of course questions arise once you are home...We wanted to negotiate but they weren't willing to budge on the price. Maybe we acted too quick. I will admit that. Don't make me feel bad!! I am looking for advice of those with experience.

Don't feel bad. Rescind now, following the directions in your contract exactly and sending the rescind letter with a return receipt requested.
You're not telling us what kind of points you bought, btw. But it doesn't really matter. Whatever you bought, it's not worth $7500. And believe me, that offer will still be available from the developer if you decide you want it in a few months.
Once you've rescinded, you can research and think about what you really want and need. Lots of people here will be happy to give you good advice. Good luck!

i don't know what kind of points we bought. they never mentioned different pint systems. Maybe there is something in the paperwork.
My husband is very pleased with the deal and what BG has to offer, but for some reason i can't shake my skepticism.
If we do rescind, will we have a problem getting our money back. I pray not!

If you follow the instructions, you should be fine on getting your money back.
I have been an owner of BG for 6 years, and overall, love the resorts and BG. But, you can find cheaper packages that will give you that same access for a much cheaper price. I think you will enjoy BG, but do it at a better price.Don

You haven't said what type of points you purchased, but paying $7500 for anything bi-annual seems very high. JGTragesser has plenty of experience, btw, and makes an excellent point - you should cancel your purchase immediately - then do your research. If you decide that what you bought is the right program for you, and at the right price, I will eat my hat, but you can buy it after you've done your research. Also remember that in addition to your purchase price, you will pay annual maintenance fees.
There's a reason why the salespeople push so hard to close at the tour.
eta: Ok, I see they're Bluegreen points. If you post in the Bluegreen forum here, you may get a more targeted response, but don't wait too long, your rescission period is ticking.

You can either believe the people on this board who live and breathe timeshares, or you can go ahead with a large purchase of something which you're having trouble describing.
You've made a mistake. As people have said, focus now on getting you're money back and then figure out what you want to do.
And BTW, I made the same mistake you are about to and I wish I would have found this board in the timely manner that you have.
BTW2, you bought a good product ... but you've paid way too much ... and there are better products ... and only half of what you currently believe to be true about timesharing is actually true.

Normally you only have 5-7 days to cancel your purchase and get your money back - read your contract and follow the directions exactly - make copies of everything - then contact 'BocaBum' thru this board for further advice.

Look at sights like E-bay or Redweek.com for starters. You should be able to buy an every year usage for that amount PLUS put several thousand dollars back into your bank account (think $7,000 or your original purchase price).
As others have said RESCIND NOW. Trust me, that deal will be there tomorrow but in the meantime you'll be able to find lots of deals for a lot less money.
Let me ask you this. Would you purchase a car without knowing the details of that car, without shopping for other deals on similar cars, knowing if it had AC or no AC, cassette deck of cd, or without knowing how to drive the car (not knowing if it's a manual or automatic)? If you answer yes to that question then fine, keep that overpriced purchase that you'll be unhap[y with next year but still paying on. Otherwise listen to the voices of experience, stop know and THINK about what you're doing before it's to late. You wouldn't buy a car or house without researching the deal. Why would you or your husband finanace $7,500 at a very high rate of interest without researching this deal?
BTW, do you have any idea how long you'll pay that $118/month. You do know you'll be paying MF's for the rest of your life on this timeshare or that, if you decide to sell it, you'll likely only get a couple hundred dollars for it right? My bet is you'll pay $118/month for at least 10 years or $14,160 PLUS all those maintenance fee's.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

This is for BlueGreen RIGHT??
BlueGreen is a very good TS system and buying points in that system can make lots of sense. BUT until you are sure that you want to buy from the developer (and pay alot more than resale!!) you are better off rescinding your contract.
If you buy resale from a bluegreen certified reseller, you'll get most of the same benifits you'd have gotten from buying direct from BG. And you'd likely save 50%- 75%. Spend some time learning about BG and then make an informed choice.
Here is a link to a site which has lots of great info about BG.
Good Luck and welcome to TS4Ms.Bill
