  • Visability?

I like to SEE and work the exchanges myself.

Does the Visability matter depending on the size of deposit used?

Do end-of-the-year deposits lose any exchange power?

        Robert,
See the reply to your email that I just sent, I think I answer some of these question there.
Also, as Lawren says, when you are ready jump in to the ExOPs forum, it's addictive.

What way do I go about making a choice of EX-Ops by making Wyndham deposits? Or are you simply making my search easier?

Which of these that can be seen depends on the deposit made for me by Wyndham?

If I stay "searchable", I try match-ups myself? ... If I go with "generic" I ask a VC to grab it for me?

I used to know but it's been too long.

If you stay searchable, you get a week from Wyndham that RCI will allow you to do search on-line yourselves. If you get generic, you need to call VC, or just post your wish on this forum's RCI_ExOp, I believe you will be care of.

So, if I go "searchable" I have no choice in the week assigned and what I get to see depends on the trade power I get?
Can I still ask a VC to pull a week?

If I go "generic" the deposit I get may have higher trade power and I just have to find a great VC to book it?

Let me hear your advantages of staying “generic” or “searchable”.

Technique, if you stay in searchable, you may get better trading power or may get lower trading power.

Stan has an example, if you put $10, and the rest 9 $1, your avg. trading power is $1.9, but you only get 1 chance to get better result. But if you do get that one, you have 5 times trading power than avg.

Generic does not loss trading power, and will always available. Searchable has to be real week that has deposited by Wyndham, or will be deposit by Wyndham in the pretty near future.

But searchable allow you to grab a week when you find it, if you are a night owl , and allow you to do search on-line. And sometimes, you do get longer time to use the week (if say, they give you a week that trip day is Jan 2009, you get to use it until Jan 2011, instead of generic, if you deposit today, you can only use it till end of Oct 2010)

If you just put them as on-going search, it probably will not make any difference.

If you ask for a "searchable" deposit you will be assigned a deposit that Wyndham has already spacebanked with RCI. This could be from any of the Wyndham resorts and your trade power will depend on what you get.
You don't have to do the search yourself even with a "searchable" deposit. You can still go thru a VC and you can still put in an "on going" search.
If you go generic the trading power could be better depending on what you would have got the other way. A generic deposit has averabe trading power for all Wyndham deposits of like season and size.
Above are actually the advantages and disadvantages. Being able to search yourself is nice, at least for me, but you don't necessairly get the best trading power except by way of luck.

How to take advantage of RCI Ex-Ops

Whether searchable or generic, how is Ex-Ops made use of?

Take a look at the Exchange Opportunities forums. If you see something you like, put in your own search and see if you can pull it. Watching them over time will give you a good idea of what's available without having to do the searches yourself (thank you ExOps Goddesses and Gods), but to pull the ExOps you are best off watching them regularly, as the good weeks go fast.

Is it best to call a VC to pull what I see on Ex-Ops or do you do just as well by staying Searchable and trying to pull them yourself?

I suppose if I were unable to see them myself, I could ask a VC... Right????

If you have a deposit that you can do searches with it is easier initially to do your own search to see what you see.
If you can't see something that you are interested in they give a call, maybe someone can help you out. Maybe they will say that your week can't see what you are looking for, but, maybe they will be able to see it with your week.
It is usually worth a call.

Give a call usually is better. RCI VC seems to have a lot of ability to adjust something. And sometimes, if may change if you can get a match or not.
