  • Questions on making RCI deposits from Wyndham

    1) When filling out the Wyndham online form to request deposits be made into RCI, I note 28 Maid points or $30 is charged. Is this correct? With 371k points, I believe we are ok here with 10 deposits total.

    2) Should I make all of my on-line deposit requests, one right after the other, or spread them out a bit?

    3) Well they pull batched resorts better if I batch deposit them, through a VC. I may wish to work our way cross-country and try booking several places from one phone call.

    4) Is there advantage to working with a VC on this. Again, ten transactions.

    5) Does it lessen or increase the likelihood of obtaining ten "visible" deposits, if I request on-line?

Robert, I am a 'newbie' with Wyndham but I know that if u do ALL your transactions on one day - there is only ONE transaction fee charged....not 10 fees for 10 deposits.

That answers at least one of your questions....the experts will jump in for the rest.

28K weeks are almost never visibles. There just aren't that many blue studios that have been converted. With 10 deposits, I'm assuming you are doing one 105K, and nine 28K? If so, ask for the 105K to be a visible.

Pat's right: one transaction if all in the same day.

I think if it were me, I'd probably call, but I don't have a good reason as to why.

You are VIP, you should not get Maid Charge.

Pat is correct, if you do it in one day or one call, it is one transaction. And at this moment, all your deposit will allow you to travel until 12/31/2010 no matter which day you deposit them unless you get visible deposit.

I believe visible deposit go through just one department, so it will not change your chance of getting it no matter what you do.

          Thinking 2- 70s and the rest 28s

Does that hold true if requested on-line?

I suppose if I do some on-line and the rest by calling, I'll find out something.
          Thanks all.

Then I'd ask for one of the 70s to be visible. Assuming they honor your request, use that to search. If you find something with it, put it on hold, and then call and ask to the confirm the unit with one of the generics.

You have to pay attention though. I did this the other day, putting a 1BR+loft sleeps 8 on hold for a ski resort up in Northern Michigan for MLK weekend. I asked them to confirm it, and she confirmed a 1BR sleeps 4 instead of the unit I held. It got sorted out, but only because I checked to make sure.
