Yeah, she answered your question. You just didn't like the answer. I think the entire thread speaks for itself. What did you expect her to say?

Your question highlights why I don't even bother ever reading that forum. When we had the Interval Board with Craig on TUG, we got real answers, not the constant, "I'll check and get back to you," then a generic post reciting the corporate rhetoric that RCI wants disseminated. Sometimes they weren't the answers we liked, and sometimes it was basically, "That's the way it is, deal with it. " Even that's better than the doublespeak.

I haven't bothered with it since, just after it started, I and others asked questions about exchange rates and the disparity between Canadian and US exchange fees, etc.

          The answer

you got from Madge was about as believable as the one I got to my question.

Madge is an employee of RCI and is not in a position to voice her personal opinion. The board is Ask RCI and therefore you are going to get the corporate rhetoric. If I remember correctly Craig was much higher up the corporate food chain at II.
It seems that there are 2 alternatives. Get no feedback from II or the corporate stance from RCI. At least you are getting answers of sorts from RCI which is more than II provides.

Where is Craig now? Craig gave us some good straight answers and some helpful advice in dealing with II.

I have had some communication with him. The last was about 4 months back. He now has a small business in the Florida area and doing well. Because he no longer worked for II they made him sign a sort of Gag order. He was no aloud to post about anything to do with II. I believe that the gag order may have passed. BTW Craig is a member of this forum but he only went into the political forums. I can not post what his name is on these forums but hopefully he might come back to let everyone know who he is. BTW He has not posted in months.

Madge has put off a Pahio points question for months and months

She keeps saying that she will get back with an answer, but she never does.

Supposedly, if you buy a Pahio RCI points week, the points do not go with the week, Pahio says the points aren't transferable. The real answer is probably that Pahio will not allow a points sale without exercising ROFR. I don't know what happens from there.

What I meant by did she answer my question is not did she answer, but did she answer my question about whether point values are going to be decreased to be in line with increasing interest rates, the same as the were increased to be in line with lower interest rates?

I tried to phrase my question so as to avoid an RCI-speak answer.

Do you think her answer addresses that?

FWIW, Craig was a VP, so did not have to check for approval before saying things. He probably had to make some calls to find out stuff he did not know. Supposedly he was on TUG on his own time. Inside Guy once commented that with a million members to serve he did not understand how Craig could spend time with the few he served on TUG, or something like that.

This is off topic, but in reading that thread, I'm wondering why Aldo even got an RCI credit card since he hates RCI so much?

Its too bad that Bootleg isn't around anymore. He would have given a straight answer instead of the corporate spin.

                            This is from FF

"Fairfield Resorts is excited to welcome Dave Pontius as Chief Customer Officer, a new position reporting to Franz Hanning, focused on creating an exceptional service experience for owners across every point of interaction.

In addition, Dave also serves as Executive Vice President, Hospitality Services & Strategic Planning, responsible for every facet of the Hospitality Division, including Fairfield and Trendwest Resort Management, Inventory Operations, Owner Services, and Hospitality Strategy. This position was held by Mary Mahoney, who recently accepted a new challenge as President and Chief Executive Officer of RCI North America. "

I believe FF is very afraid of employee speak on public forum. Because they don't like people think it is corp policy. Basically, Dave and Mary switch position. If that is what happen, we may need really treasure Madge, since she may stop soon.

Bootleg disappeared some weeks ago from the three forums on which he was active. His email account is no longer active. Hopefully, he is OK and will come back at some point, but there is some concern that RCI may have found him out. Maybe, the heat is really on with the two class action lawsuits, and he is just laying low for the time being.

Madge's answers are too often corporate spin and doubletalk. Bootleg has been a straight shooter. While there are some benefits to Madge's participation, they are no where near those of the candid info provided by Bootleg.
