I suggest Solara Surfside or Golden Strand.

Both nice resorts that meet the needs of young people and are also kid friendly.

How about Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale.
Close to Miami and all the action but good for kids too.

I recommend Enchanted Isle in Hollywood. It's not luxe but the beach is fantastic and it's pretty close to Miami so they could easily drive down and take in South beach or Sunny Isles if they want action.

                  Love Hollywood too
My daughter lived there for four years

                  Loved going to visit her
the beach is one of the best
                  not too crowded either

                  Lots of things to do

Can't get anything in Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood via exchange in RCI for Feb 2011 anytime.

LOts in Daytona, Ormond Beach etc. Nope son wants the others...now he says how about Jamaica...........patience is a virtue....LOL. I told him I will call you in a few days come up with a few places you are willing to go to.........( This started out as a ski trip mind you!).

If I did not have so many deposited units in RCI I would just say forget it.....LOL. But I need to use some of these units up from my 15 months of non-vacation or shall I say hospital timeshare vacations!!!

Can you use II, They tend to have deposits there. Also if all else fails use Priceline, I have gotten the Westn in Hollywood for $65 a night and the Eden Roc at Miami Beach for $95 a night

Thanks bigfrank......I can use II but I could not get what they ( my son ) wants.....Miami...LOL. I could use Priceline as you say but the whole point for me right now is to use up some of my RCI deposits due to an overload from not vacationing for 15 months while I was sick.

Did I mention this first started out as a ski trip, then not the place he wanted so changed to a warm vacation, Miami only, then well how about Aruba or Jamaica. All the while I am spending all my time searching for my dear son and he has no clue I can tell where he wants to go nor does his wifey poo.......I told them do they know anyone with an RCI book...yup, okay go thru book and see where you want to go and some resorts you like, then go online if you can and check directory. When you know for sure I will research.....this is making me mental, I am doing this in Mexico and he is in Mass. USA. LOL. I found lots of places that seemed okay to me and I would have booked them for me, but these young twenty somethings, well I do not know....and they are taking my grandson 10 months old so how much do they think they will be able to do anyway LOL. Kids...gotta love em....

I suggested Mexico coastal areas to them...easy for me and I know a lot of the places but no....haha...been there, grew up in Mexico looking for new and exciting, well my my....

Sounds like with a 10 month old they should be going to Orlando instead.

                          Have you suggested that?

That would take the work off of you and they'd get a nice vacation suitable for having a toddler in tow.

If they really want Miami how about Doral or Weston? Those Weston resorts are always in RCI and it's close enough to do day trips to Miami and the West Coast of FL.

In Feb you can forget about The Keys or SW (except for Lehigh).

A few in Northern Gulf Coast

In February he can also forget Aruba, Jamicia or anything in the Caribbean that he would want to stay, especially at this late date!

                              Just saying......
