Example of resort?
Sounds fun, maybe...

At one Mexican resort I became familiar with, All Inclusive is mandatory for exchanges and optional for owners.

But,
Just wanting to know more...
I guess, renting is the trick - waiting for a smoking deal...
My mom has world mark, and I am not sure how to play that to an advantage.
I think she said she has 8500 WM points.
She is stuck with a 600 MF
Ideas?

You would not increase her MF's because she isn't adding permanent credits to her account-just one time credits-and WM lets you rent and add credits without any restrictions (see why I like it) You would pay for the renting and exchange fees if necessary and learn whether you like it or not.
I have a family member that often thinks he wants to buy timeshare-I tell him just pay me to rent credits and I can pretty much do whatever you want. But that is because I'm educated...you would have to stick around and become educated to make it work.

If you click on the resort, the small print should tell you the "all inclusive" fees that generally include unlimited food, bevvies, and some activities (non motorized water sports, for example). The fees have gotten pretty high at many places and are often mandatory rather than optional. But if you want to do a trip like that, you can get the room itself very cheap if you are willing to take on the AI fees. I would NOT buy into one of these, but they are easy to rent through RCI. You could also probably get a comparable vacation package through the resorts. I think the DR also has a fair share of AI resorts.
Just filling your head with dreams...it's fun to dream.

Looks great!
I would like to keep it in the U.S. or its territories though...
Being from LA... I don't have ALL good memories of Mexico.
I don't speak Spanish and I always feel like I have to have my gaurd up.
Imagination overload? Maybe...
But I know several people that have been locked up down there.
Booked under different names so nobody could find them for more than a week!
Ever since then, I don't head south.
About 20 years ago, I went all the time, as much as possible! Fun memories of fish tacos and beer bongs on the balconies of some cheesey discos with buckets of small coronas and lots of friends to watch my stupid drunk ass barf off the second floor and almost go to jail myself. If it weren't for paying the policeia wads of 1 dollar bills, I might have been locked up too. The good old days... When you could easily buy your American butt out of trouble for a wad of 1 dollar bills..... And we knew it and came prepared with them!
Now, you may end up dead! Lots of hostagese and well.... You get the picture.

A beautiful tropical resort with a great buffet and sandy beaches with surf and snorkeling...
Beautiful views and romantic dinners!
O.K. you can laugh at me now!
Now if I can find somebody to rent that for below the MF!
Not the romantic dinner, just the TS...
You just have to look for what you want. There are tons of rentals everywhere.John
