  • Anyone else get a post-booking letdown?

I have our family solidly booked up for 2011, and last night put on hold a June 2012 week at Big Sky in Montana for a Yellowstone trip.

We're also out of time to travel, with my having booked up nearly every possible free moment for a family with 3 kids in school. We have a week in NYC (pulling the kids for a few days), New Years at Big Cedar, Spring Break at the beach in FL, 5 days at Big Cedar for Easter break, 2 weeks in Hawaii in early summer, another Big Cedar trip (family reunion) in July, then Colorado late summer.

If I book this Big Sky week for 2012, I will be out of RCI Points. I used my II deposit for the Colorado week, and I'm out of Bluegreen points until my new batch is deposited Dec 1st.

Does anyone else feel a little sad when they have no trips to plan for a bit? Perhaps this timesharing thing is more obsessive than I realized?

    Anita,

It's not the "no trips to plan" part that has you down. It's the not being ABLE to book any more trips.

I always get pangs of "but...I want to go" when I'm at depletion. That's OK hang in and December 1 will be here before you know it!

      Patience Anita, Patience.

You could always pick up a last call or some bonus time if you really feel the need.

No, I never feel sad as I am not obsessed with this stuff. Being retired we just do what we want, when we want. Actually I am happy when my current travel plans are all planned and in place.

I am feeling just the opposite this year, as we have used up or carried over all of of this years points and are going to wait until later to book. We may even wait until the 60 day and use the Diamond pointsaver. I feel antsy about not having anything booked and time running out. Fortunately our DD are both out of the house and not much of a factor for planning. I think that we should be able to get whatever we need when the time comes or be adventureous and try whatever is available.
