RCI Weeks trading power value degradation

I have 2 weeks on deposit with RCI.
One of the two has a lower trading power vs the other week, I knew this already. However, I have been browsing around waiting for something to come open since I deposited the lower value week last march. I used to be able to find availability in many places. Now that the value change has taken place on the RCI site, my lower value week has a rating of 10 and the higher week a 14.
What is disappointing is that many of the places I could have booked before are now rated 14 or higher. Even before with the higher power week I found availability of a week that is now listed at 25.

RCI promised that they would not be changing trading power with this changeover, but, hey, what good have RCI's promises ever been? At least since Cendant took over? It is quite obvious that some values were increased while others were whacked.

On the SA board OY, there is a lot of gnashing of teeth over the whacking that SA generally took on trading power. Some had weeks deposited before this Points Lite monster rose from its slab and those often had values almost twice what RCI was giving after Points Lite was imposed. The older deposits kept their previous values but the news ones would be valued under the new regime.

I was afraid something like this would happen so I made sure I emptied my RCI account before it happened. Good thing, I did. My last even trade, I would be 11 points lite short on today!

The new numbers scheme does not follow supply and demand. A good example is that in the ultimate high demand, low supply venue in timesharing, central London, Allen House only is awarded 53 points lite for a summer 3BR week, but to trade into a similar size and season in a way off the beach resort in Myrtle Beach, a 3BR summer Presidential Villas would take 60 points lite. Imagine owning one of those weeks at Allen House and being told it would take an extra 7 points lite to trade into the same size and season in way off the beach resort in Myrtle Beach?

If I were in charge of business development over at SFX, I would be beating a path to Allen House and other resorts like it.
