So disappointed to hear my trading power sucks!! Of course that's not what we were told when we bought.

Okay, so I'm ditching to the idea of trading for March 2011. We will just use a week at the resort we own at.

So now, I'm thinking maybe I will deposit 2 weeks and use them say next springbreak (2012). Would I then be able to get an awesome resort say in South Carolina, Belize, Costa Rica or Riveria Maya?? We could also go in October 2011, just not sure that is long enough time period for my deposit.

As of this a.m. I was thinking I was going with II but now you got me thinking about RCI again. So much to think about.

    I appreciate your help Pat.

South Carolina in March should be fine.

      Probably Riviera Maya...let me look.....you need a 2BR, correct?

      Not good
      Here is RM #s
      January 2012 [12]
      February 2012 [12]
      March 2012 [14]
      April 2012 [13]

      These are all hotel units

For March 2011 there is actually some availability for some low numbers - but that is today and now, no guarentee what will be there in a week.

SFX charges a size upgrade fee only for people that have the free Gold membership. Platinum members don't pay anything for a size upgrade.

March is prime time for Riviera Maya and other areas of Mexico.

Agree, and this is not the upscale Villa De Arco - just the standard Villa Del Palmar Cabo

            True, but see above

It sure is....hence the problem Deb is going to have with summer Mexico weeks

At least with the "Brave New RCI" aka "Points Lite" she can combine several weeks to get one good vacation.

At this point, I'm regretting buying my timeshare. It's totally useless right?? It might actually be worth it to walk away than pay my maintenance fee's. I could get a package deal which included all-inclusive, hotel & airfare for a better deal. Maybe I'm wrong

I wouldn't say it is totally useless. You can always use your weeks at your own resort. It is true that your ability to exchange is somewhat limited. I would certainly think about it before walking away. You very likely would have your credit destroyed if you did.

Deb, I would like you to re-read my post about your TS and RCI - you actually have a VERY good option there.

But it was also YOU that decided to buy a (or several?) summer week in Mexico - you could have paid more and gotten the winter week which is much more valuable...but this was your choice.

Our posts here are to try and help u make lemonade out of your lemons - consider the advice and make the most of your ownership.

                  You went to the resort.
You LIKED the resort enough to buy.
Consider visiting your home resort every other year and exchange domestically (drive to or cheaper flights) the off year.

                  Good Luck.
