Luanne, I had two Colorado weeks I usually give to Interval and always got AC's, but this year they didn't offer them so I gave my weeks to Trading Places and Platinum. My weeks are not affiliated with RCI. Platinum has some good southern Calif. resorts like Channel Island Shores, Aquamarine, Blue Whale, etc.

I still haven't done anything yet. I'm leaning towards giving both weeks to Platinum Interchange. I also have a 2011 week at Maui Hill that we still haven't done anything with. We'd offered it up to the family for use, but so far everyone is dragging their collective feet (this would be dh's side of the family ). If I give that week to RCI (which I normally never do) I'd get 28 TPU, even depositing this late.

28 is nothing to sneeze at. Took 27 to book September in Tuscany.

What did you get in Tuscany? I rarely see Tuscany. My family is in Tuscany.

          Thanks,

Don't forget that your RCI membership also includes extra vacations (rentals) at pretty low rates. Since your membership is already paid for you might want to hang on to it just for that.

For example some nice places in Tuscany right now including Il Poggio, 22-27 TPUs for exchange but only $576-$792 for one weeks rental.

I recently grabbed a week in Florence for 2013 for only 13 TPUs. There are currently Venice weeks available, a couple well under $1000.

Il Poggio. There are a few other RCI resorts in the region - La Casella (Umbria) and La Ferriere (closer to Florence and most exchanges require payment for "half-board"). Maybe others but I'm not very familiar with most of the town names. Check RCI under Italy, Inland.

And if you book 120 days out with Platinum, you get a bonus week too, good for 2 years, and at 90 days out...last summer I got a week at Kona Hawaiian Village for a bonus week with them! Tht resort suddenly popped up. I took it and then cancelled my already reserved week with my Wyndham points and saved tons of $$.

                    A plus for Platinum

Have been to Hawaii several times and wanted a different experience this year so used Platinum to book a week on Molokai. They seem to offer weeks there frequently. We really enjoyed the experience, but it is not your typical Hawaiian week. It is like visiting Hawaii in the 40's, before tourism took over. There are only a few thousand residents and they don't encourage new residents, but like for you to come for a visit. We took a ferry from Maui and stayed at Ke Nani Kae (sp?) which has only about 10 TS units as most folks there are full time owners. We flew in one day to the old leper colony having decided against the mule trip down. You do have to plan in advance to do this as the local plane/mules only goes when there are enough people. We did find the mule trips are often sold out. The interior is mostly rolling hills and not as spectacular scenery as other islands except for the sheer cliffs on the leper colony end. However, we found enough to do for a week and recommend it. Don't think this resort is listed with RCI or II
