I have a floating week studio loft unit and was wondering what kind of trading power it would have in II?

    to TS4Ms,
I own at BBC and have belonged to II for many years.

II travel demand goes from 50-150 with 100 being average demand.

    Weeks 1-13 score 150
Weeks 14-18 step down and 19-31 are around 100
The rest of the year is below 100 and then goes back up to 125ish for 47-52

Although you own a loft, II treats it the same as a regular studio as it sleeps 2 privately. With II, size matters so you will mostly see studios and some 1BRs - 2BRs are not impossible but would be off season and in areas where there are many timeshares (Orlando/Williamsburg/Branson)

BBC is a "standard" resort so you will not see "Four Seasons" type resorts but I do see a nice variety of resorts.

I own week 3 & 4 - your experience will vary based on what week you reserve in your float season 1-17 or 18-51.

Thank You, Yes that helps. We have owned a week there several years and enjoy going there alot, we also had a week at the Elysian which we just sold as we did not enjoy it as much. We come from the Washington state and always stay two weeks as it is such a long trip to get there. Yesterday I got another loft unit off e-bay for $1.00 with all closing and transfers paid by seller! So now we can stay at the same resort both weeks-unfortunately not this year. We typically go weeks 26 and 27, I have week 26 booked but the resort is booked full on week 27, shortage of rooms due to renovations . So am looking for a rental that week. I have usage of my new week this year and am looking at options to go later this year or bank it with II and maybe try to get into Maui.
      Thanks again

        Great buy!
For this year - suggest you try for a reservation Nov/December to deposit BUT if you want to go to Maui - look into "Trading Places Maui" Trading Places Maui - About Us or else "Trading Places" Trading Places International - Home - I know that TPI will accept your BBC week as a deposit and they have a LOT of availability on the west coast/Hawaii.
I think you would have better luck with them then II for Hawaii.
EDIT - there is no membership fee to use TPI - only the exchange fee....

And do you belong to the BBC Owners Group on Yahoo?
Search for "BluebeardsBeachClub" in Yahoo Groups and request to join the group.
There are rentals listed there plus you can post a request....

Wow Thanks for the great info! I have checked those sites, look great. Yes we finally got approval into the BBC yahoo group! The renovations pictures look great, we stopped by in January on are way to St John for a week and saw all the construction underway. It appears as we are floating week owners that there is difficulty in getting reservations, due to buildings a and b being closed. I also saw a post indicating renovations for the other buidings in 2012? We've actually accepted a studio rather than a loft for week 26. Still searching for a week 27 alternative. Definitely will be calling asap to get reservations for Nov? week to stay there or trade.
          Thanks again

Actually Darla just posted on the Yahoo group that Wyndham has made more studio lofts available....you might want to check in with her.
If you need her email, send me a PM or else contact her thru the group.

The shortage of studio lofts has nothing to do with the renovation of A&B - it is an internal Wyndham problem.

A bit worried now, as I have spent hours searching and reading post's on the shortage of loft units, I hope I have not made a mistake purchasing an additional week. I was unaware of this issue and it seem's those released lofts went fast! I read that Darla and the board is working on the issue and certainly appreciate their efforts and hope it is resolved soon.

This is the first time this has happened (I have owned since 2004) - the whole thing is a bit "suspect" as the float pool is separate then the fixed week pool and the Wyndham points ownership pool...however, I am sure it will be resolved.

Yes its seem's odd, we haven't had problems in the past. Though we usually have reserved earlier. We have already checked 2012 availabilty and are going to make reservations asap. We have rented a place on St John for the second week of our trip this year as I cant get into BBC for both our weeks back to back.As far as the other week, Would it be easier to bank this years BBC week and use it at BBC next year? I am not a II member and not sure I want to be from the things I have read. Still thinking it might work for late Nov.this year as they have availabilty at BBC or as suggested TPI dep. for Hawaii or ?
Thanks for all of the great information!!!
