  • Just rejoined RCI!

I know, I wasn't going to but we're planning another world trip at the end of 2012 so have decided to give RCI another try. Already have issues and headaches about linking it to our Worldmark account, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah.

There's a whole new ball game with the new trading power pts and all that jazz. It's like a new world. And the FEES! What's with the fees? It costs $249 to exchange to an overseas resort from Australia!

    I just hope I don't regret it!

You have no idea the shock you are about to get with TPU. Good if you do last min travel and you get lucky if it is there.

      You did NOT!
      Looking forward to your posts.
It is certainly the exchange company some love to hate, but they do get me to good places so I continue. The fees are high, but the new trading power deal has been working nicely for me.

I wouldn't feel that way if I still need exchanges into The Manhattan Club

      Have.... fun ?

. . . and A$249 = US$266, so it is even worse than it sounds.

With Points Lite, your deposits may have less value than in the old system, more value, or about the same. It is a matter of luck. Some have been really hosed while others came out okay when RCI moved the goal posts on valuation at the same time they imposed the new system. According to the responses to JLB's poll, about half have lost exchange value with the new system.

I noticed that for the weeks that I do not have the TPU to exchange into, they offer to rent it.

And it is $79USD for insurance that covers the return of your original TPUs....

No. Actually a bit angry about it. I wonder if these are the banked weeks they're ofering to rent out or developers' weeks. If they're banked weeks then the members and owners just got royally ripped off as once it's rented, other members with enough TPU no longer have access to those weeks.

Same old RCI. I'd forgotten that rejoining them would elicit the feelings of being nickled and dimed.

Is there really TPU with Worldmark? I think it operates like Wyndham Vacation Resorts now, you pay the point price, you get anything.

I think you are right Mike but we also have 5 other timeshares beside our Worldmark.
