  • information overload...newbie needs help!!!

I have been trying to go through the multitude of threads to find out about exchaning my week and I am lost. I have a studio at Woodstone, I believe the actually terminology is a 2 bedroom lockout with 1 bedroom option alternating year or something?!?!? Anywho I have a red week, week #1 which they tell me is a holiday week and "prime" season at my resort. I also have some bonus week for anysize unit yearly paying just the RCI fee...however, needs to be booked within 45 days of travel, no holidays, blah blah blah. I supposedly can go to my resort any week I want, but if I want to exchange with RCI, will I have decent trading power? I don't have an RCI number yet to even view this info on their website, so I am basically asking for your thoughts on my trading ability from your experience. I just gave myself a headache...sorry if I caused anyone else one too .

TIA for any and all help!!

I'm also confused. Looking for advice on selling my timeshare in the Berkshires. I had two weeks - sold one through redweek.com but have no takers on the other. We bought it when it was a two hour ride from both us and our daughter, but she has now moved cross-country and we don't use it much. Can never seem to find an exchange I want through RCI, so don't see much point in keeping it.

You can list it here. If you are so inclined, you can put it up on ebay. I guess it depends how badly you want to get rid of it.

RCI may not have the right trades for you, but maybe try one of the smaller companies. SFX and Platinum Exchange both have employees who read and post on this site. They are smaller than RCI and are able to provide much more personal service.

Never mind Hannah trying to hijack your thread.

Melissa it sounds like you just purchased your week, and it sounds like you got it from the developer or the HOA.

        1. If you are still in the rescission period I would recommend that you rescind ASAP (even as I know you are not)

        2. Since you are past the rescission period you are wise to try and learn how to best use your timeshare here.

Assuming #2 - look on your deed for the description of exactly what you "bought". A "studio at Woodstone" seems quite different than a "a 2 bedroom lockout with 1 bedroom option alternating year or something?!?!?".

A "lockout" is very different from a "studio". Once you post the description we here can give you informed advice.

Oh, boy. Did I do something wrong? I didn't mean to hijack anybody's thread. I just thought my question fit in with the previous question. I haven't quite figured out how this forum works yet. Sorry.

I think "wrong" might be too strong - threads get hijacked all the time, don't worry a bit about it - especially since the OP (Original Poster) hasn't come back.

The OP's question was about exchanging and using their timeshare while your question was about offloading one - different things.

But both newbie issues so ...

You can continue the hijack or start a new thread - as you choose.
