AC's for Deposits - Tighter trade power?

I have never had this in the past. Not sure if II has changed some of the rules.

I always thought that AC's for deposits carried the same trading power as the original deposit (as long as it was on the grid). I am not finding this.

Example:
looking for Orlando mid April. I can find many Marriott 1BR and Sheraton 2BR with my original week - but the AC will only pull studios at these places and 1BRs at Westgates.

Glitch or has II changed the rules???

Yup.....II is being a bit stingy with their AC's.

I just did the exact same search using a Marriott 1 bdrm deposit, and a Marriott 2 bdrm AC.

I was able to see much, much more in Orlando with my 1 bdrm, then I was able to see with my 2 bdrm AC. I did see a few 1 & 2 bdrms, but nowhere near what I was able to see with my 1 bdrm deposit.

My AC expires in Feb, 2012, so I searched from today till then.

It never gets easier........

All well, I still have another year to use mine, so I guess I'll just use my regular week to get what I want since it is April school vacation week and I am too chicken to wait until Flex Time.

Arrg....now I am playing around with an AC and it doesn't appear the grid is dropped during flex time!!!!

These have really lost their value to me.

I've had to call in the past year or so to get something that I couldn't see on line. Not sure if that was a problem this year though..tes.

For what it is worth - I talked to an II rep tonight after making a 2 for 1 exchange.

He said my "free" AC they gave me for being a good customer is very limited and the grid will not drop.

The AC I received for a deposit will have the grid drop during flex time.
