I asked this question on TUG and no one responded. I guess it is very very new.

It would be nice to hear from someone with first hand information.

      Resort Details
It’s 1 p.m. and you have a tough decision to make. Surfing Waikiki waves a block away? Libations and luscious coconut shrimp at Coconut Willy’s? Or poolside games beneath balmy Hawaiian sunshine? The new Waikiki Beach Walk is the largest development in Waikiki history with 7.7 acres of shops, eateries and live entertainment located close to…well, close to pretty much everything. And that means one thing for you: more ways to play than you ever dreamed possible. Be among the first to savor them all.

Projected opening scheduled for late 2006.

      http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar.../bz/bz03p.html

The first phase of the project, scheduled to be completed late next year, includes: redeveloping the 480-room Ohana Reef Towers Hotel into the 195-time-share unit Fairfield Hawaii at Waikiki Beach Walk; converting the Ohana Waikiki Village and Ohana Waikiki Tower hotels into the all-suite Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk, and renovating the Ohana Islander Waikiki.

And there are Exchanges available for Jan 2007.

Nobody can have stayed there, so there couldn't be a review??

Are you looking for what FF is selling the points for or ???

They started booking in Fairfield a few months ago for December '06 and on.
When we were there they hadn't starting building yet but they had conceptua plans on display in various locations. It looked nice and the location is great, just a block or so from beach and close to everything in Waikiki.
As RCI trades these are a good deal depending on what it takes to see them.
          FF,s rate is 240,000 Fairfield points for a 2BR and 189,000 for a 1BR.
Funny I just checked with my best FF trader in RCI and couldn't pull these. Usually any FF deposit can pull any FF that is there. Strange. Maybe I will call the FF RCI line to see whats up with this.

While the Resort may be open in Dec 2006/Jan 2007, other major construction could make staying there at that time less than a wise choice.

So, I would like to know is the whole Waikiki Beach Walk Project done, almost done, or half done

Very strange. I did an RCI search for Oahu using a real good Fairfield trader for January and February '07 start dates and couldn't see the units for FF Hawaii at Beach Walik. Like I said most any Fairfield depost usually sees FF bulk deposits. I just redid the search looking for the specific Resort Code and I see all of them.
              Weird!!!
Anyway, like I said these look like a real good deal. I would jump at them except I think we are going to Italy in '07 and a trip to Hawaii that same year is probably not in the cards for us.

We went to a timeshare presentation there. The timeshare building is not on the beach but only steps away from it. The condos way high up may have some ocean view between a few other high-rise buildings in front of it as the project is on a narrow side street. They didn't show us a model because there wasn't one. The building is where the action is as it is so close to the beach and the main boulevard too that runs next to the beach. I remember posting about it because the story about the kiosk was rather funny. Here is the story.

While the lady was giving the presentation, I wrote all the prices down as quick as I could in a little red book and also the point values and maintenance fees but then she asked me to stop writing as it would cost her the job. I find this ridiculous because the Marriott will give you a price sheet to take home with you as they are not that secretive. I could not believe how expensive the point packages were as well as the maintenance fees. You can compare it with the Marriott where we took a presentation too. However, the points will give you more than a week somewhere else.

Can you please tell me a little about the pool? Is it one of those tiny Oahu thing or is it cool? I know you didn't see the actual thing, but maybe you saw a model of the complex? Thanks...

No, that was so surprising. They had lots of pictures of other resorts but we didn't see any drawings or a model of what it is going to be like. If it was there, it wasn't shown to us. We spent a lot of time going over the prices of the different point-based packages as they had several of them. One was for one million points. The more points you bought, the cheaper the cost would be per point. They also had a sale on one particular package. I still have all the details in a little booklet.

At the Marriott, they had a set up with a model of the existing resort plus a model of the two new towers on either side of the resort plus examples of the fabrics, tile and floor, etc. Here are some pictures my DH took of the model and fabrics and the Marriott pool and grounds too. They also had a presentation book of very large photos because they have no model either of what the condos will look like in the new towers but you got a good idea from these pictures.

Last year, we saw the old models of the condos in the main building. The presentation was much more visual rather than what it was going to cost. At the Fairfield it was more about what it would cost us to buy. I tried to look up if I could find a web page where they show what the tower would look like but I haven't found it yet. I got it for the Marriott because they gave it to me.

The Fairfield sales office is in the Outrigger Hotel and from so high up we had a panoramic ocean view that it was hard not to look outside often and enjoy it. The presentation was very pleasant as our sales lady tried hard to explain what the points would buy us. When we said no to buying, she was very professional and we parted with a smile. The lady who took over from her did not pressure us either.

In the drawings etc that we saw I don't think they showed the pool, at least not that I remember.
Also, on the Fairfield site none of the resort pictures show the pool.

Check with SFX; they appear to have an inside track on early developer units.

When I checked to see if my strong trader could pull these I looked at Hawaii Oahu and nothing came up.

I tried again with just Hawaii and up they came.

                              Go figure.
