Not sure exactly what happens now, or what this means. My II account says my membership expired and I am now a little confused. My week was given to another exchange company. However it shows as a "float" unit and always asks for a confirmation number. I generally just put 1234567 and that works, and I still seem to be able to book getaways and makes exchanges?


So now I am not sure if my week was actually given to the exchange company or not? Why is it still showing a floating week for 2012 if I do not have use of the unit this year, and it was not given to II? What happens when an II membership expires? I purposefully did not renew as the promo codes I had did not work, and my SVC membership comes with Gold Membership.

II weeks that you've had in your account in the past will always show up even if you don't have them anymore. When you actually book something, II confirms with the resort and if your week isn't available the exchange is canceled.

So the ability to search, etc and see what is available still is just a teaser then? If I go to make an exchange they will probably tell me that I need to get a membership first right?

Yes....You will not be able to complete an exchange before renewing your membership. You can renew online as part of the process of booking an exchange. Of course, you must first actually have a legitimate week that you're using to search, or as Glitter has said, your exchange will be cancelled.

easiest way to do is call II.

I had an II acct and then got an II acct from Hyatt and really don't need 2 since I don't really use it that much. With work and some family health issues, I lost track of my timeshares and exchanges for about 18 months.

I let me II acct expire but found out when i called that it had a week that was still valid when the II acct expired but have since expired. If it has expired within the last 3 months, I could have paid an extension fee and MF to get a short window to book and use it but since it was a little longer than that, no cigar.
