I would like to go the last week of september. I originally was going to make this trip, but have been tied up all summer with my mother's health, and couldn't be sure we could leave. In fact, i am not sure we can make the trip, but if this week became available, i would grab a Berkshires week too, visit my son in boston, then head to Florida.
If anyone spots this week, please let me know. also, what is best way to search ( it is too late to do an ongoing search). I have a favorite search for New England, and it turns up nothing available, even when there is sttuff available.

What exchange co are you using?

I don't see anything in either location, at the moment, in II. You can still put in a request, tho, and also look online for last minute sightings.

RCI usually has many more availabilities in Newport than II. Also, you can keep an eye on their last call weeks....Good luck!

Not seeing anything in Newport, but there is space in the Berkshires through Platinum. I am seeing 1 and 2 bedroom units at Vacation Village in the Berkshires and 2 back to back weeks. There are also a few studio for 4 units in Hyannis, Ma at the Courtyard....

I have been searching RCI during my insomnia phases, and i know nothing is available. Last year, I managed to get my ongoing search, about 4 days in advance. i couldn't book an ongoing search, because of my mother's situation, in fact, I many not be able to leave. I am going on Thursday to stay with my mother, she is in rehabilitation right now, she is due to be released late Sept. I may feel too guilty to leave. This will be my 5th trip down, I stay for two weeks this time, and sit in the nursing home all day til she is settled for the night. I will have wifi at the nursing home, not at her home, so no mid night searches this time. I see the weeks in the Berkshires, really low tpus, but i won't go all tht way just for the one week.
I was supposed to babysit for my daughter the end of September, that is why i never did any ongoing searches, but she has chosen the other grandparents.

Being the "Sandwich" generation is not fun. Caring for aging parents can be draining and puts your own life on hold. I've been there too. I hope you find availability where you want it and have the opportunity to use it. Good luck!

I have my mother who will be 94 in October (my sisters do the lion's share), and two aunts who are 90, and i am totally in charge of all decision making and bill paying for them.

Did you ever get to go anywhere... I also have had a mom in the nursing home (in MA) and I live out of state now... so I know what you were going thru. I am a member of II and RCI.. I have seen Berkshires for this fall.. Let me know if you are still GAME. At the moment I am having a trying time to get rid of an Aruba week... June 22-29. Any interest.. right on Beach. Let me know... I'd send details.

no we didn't go anywhere, my sisters went to Italy, and i spent two weeks with my mother in September,
I was booked on Longboat key thanksgiving week, and i got a call that they didn't think she would make it, get plane tickets.
she ended up in hospice and passed away in January, at which time the two aunts started 5 hospitalizations in a row, one has passed away this April, the other is holding on, so i have had no trips, but would love to go in September 2013 and do cape cod and the Berkshires too. I have been too busy trying to handle the aunt's estate to her sister to do any trip planning yet.
