  • Harborside in Atlantis

I just purchased, through resale, at Vistana Beach Club. I am unable to be part of the the Starwood Vacation Club but I am wondering how difficult it would be trading through II to get Harborside. I have been informed that with II I get a priority with other Starwood resorts? If so does anyone think this trade would be possible. In reallity we wouldn't be looking to do this until 2015. Should I bank 2013, and request this trade for 2015? Any help or info would be appreciated.

It depends on what time of year you want to go, but it's possible if you aren't picky.

From what I see.....Usually bulk bankings from Sept through January show up on a yearly basis...Even early Feb is possible. The rest of the year is harder to come by, with winter through spring being the most difficult time.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

On II can you search before you deposit?

The short answer is yes......Starwood only allows a "request first" deposit with II.

You can call Starwood, and they will set up an account for you with II. Then, you will be able to search before depositing. Only after an exchange is actually made, will Starwood deposit your week. Therefore, if II doesn't come through with an exchange for you, you still have your original week to fall back on.

Be sure to check the time frames of all of your options/weeks/deposits, etc. with Starwood, and keep a record. It's quite difficult to keep track of what Starwood weeks you have deposited with II,when they expire, etc., due to Starwood's system. You cannot get the info from the II site, as you normally can with your deposits.

I have been able to trade into Harborside using a Starwood week every fall for the past 5 years.
As Angela said, Sept-Jan/early February is the most frequesnt times deposited.

Just curious, is the resort as nice as it looks or is it just overpriced because of the location, We walked around Atlantis during a cruise stop in Nassau last February. The hotel looked nice, it was at night, but everything was so expensive. A friend who was with us said that bottles of water around the water park were $10.00. If we went i am sure we would do a lot of eating at our room.

Was just there in early Jan. It really was all that. We kept our costs down by eating bagels/Dunkin donuts in the am, and usually packed a sandwich for poolside for lunch. Making a run to the grocery store is recommended. If your a beer drinker, bring as much as you can in your bag. The beer at the store is about $60 a case for anything. Take a small cooler to the pools, and drink your own. It really helps. We were alble to keep it to below $300 for the whole week this way.
