  • First Ongoing Request with RCI for DVC (includes DVC/RCI Codes)

So, my DH tells me this morning he wants to go back to staying onsite at WDW this fall. Ok - we are in RCI now - so what the heck I will put in a search and see what happens. But, this is my first ongoing search with RCI - a couple of questions.

    Background:
Looking for any DVC in WDW in Nov 2013 (not thanksgiving week). I know may be a long shot - but there seems to be left over that hits the open availability monthly.
We have 2 deposits in RCI now. One with 17 TPUs left and one with 26.
    We only want a 1BR.
    We are in weeks.

I assume this should cost around 16-22 TPUs based on history of deposits.

    Questions:
    1. Should I put up the 26 TPU unit to request with? Or will RCI automatically combine if needed.
    2. Resort codes. When I look at the resort directory I can see difference codes for weeks (start with RD) and points (start with DV). They also have the 3 and 4 nights at OKW with their own codes.
Assuming I only put in the weeks codes - I'm not seeing all the resorts???
    BLT - RD09
    AK - RD01
    BCV - RD02
Where can I find or what are the codes for: OKW, BWV, SSR????

Anything tricks I need to know with RCI searches????

I can't answer about the regular weeks resort codes, but the 3 and 4 night stays must be only either points or rental weeks. I'd check disboards or mouseowners if one of our resident DVC experts doesn't come along soon. Our Ex-Ops often list the RCI codes, so worth checking those first. I don't trust RCI not to void the whole search if you put in one wrong code.

You will definitely need to put the search in against the higher deposit. RCI will not automatically combine.

Can't answer your questions, but these are the codes I know for me:
      DV01 – Animal Kingdom Villas
      DV02 – Beach Club
      DV03 – Boardwalk
      Dv04 – Hilton Head, SC
      DV05- Old Key West
      DV06 – Saratoga Springs
      Dv07 – Vera Beach, FL
DV08 – The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
      DV09 - Bay Lake Towers
Maybe they are the same, just replace dv with rd?

I thought RD was the rental end(extra vacations) and the DV was the exchanging, when i search Aulani under the deposit calculator on the weeks side i get codes:

            DV11-Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas
RD11-5 Night, Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas
RD12-5 Night Ocean View, Aulani, Disney Vacation Club

Thanks all for the info so far. Good suggestion about checking the sightings for Weeks codes. Grayfal - seems you have the same info I found.

So....still leaves missing in weeks - hopefully I will find in sightings OKW, BWV, SSR
Because the 3 and 4 at OKW have a weeks code - does that mean you can do a request for just 3 or 4 days. I always see these as extra vacations - never searching

it certainly could be - as I copied and pasted it, the ones with the "DV" also say RCI Points - so it could be the listing for both weeks and points.
Hopefully Lawren or bnoble or chriskre wil post and explain as they search these all the time.

I just looked at this sighting:
Definitely weeks sightings because of TPUs - but all DV codes - so they must be interchangeable. But, I will wait for an expert on the subject to confirm. Thanks all again!

Adding the answer to my question in case anyone else needs. Topic was brought up by someone OY.
The RD codes are rental codes. The DV codes are for exchanging.
So....All DV is what to input into an ongoing search.

No, at the moment DVC is only being offered in full week intervals, not points intervals thru RCI.
Those short stays are rentals thru RCI.
There is different inventory loaded to RCI points for DVC though so if you have access to both weeks and points you may want to check the points side.
Many times good units are just sitting there while the TPU stuff is gone after a few hours.

I'll also add that some of the corporate portals see extra inventory too.
HGVC, Wyndham etc will sometimes show units that I don't see with the regular account.
Eventually it shows up if it's not reserved but there seems to be a lag time.
It also works the other way too unfortunately.

Apparently I still need some help. I thought I set up an search - but a sighting showed up today that I could have matched with so I went into RCI and checked. It said I had no ongoing searches. So, I input again:
                              1. Clicked OnGoing Search
                              2. Picked my week to use
                              3. Under Destination I chose Resort ID selections and put in: DV01, DV02, etc & the desired check-in dates
                              4. Accommodations: Filled in my desired options.
                              5. Clicked Continue and it brings me to the regular "search for a vacation page"??????

I also added in step 3 above the region along with the resort ids - same outcome - after continue goes to search a vacation page.

What am I missing? RCI closed now. Live Chat person was no help.
