Hi there... So I finally joined SFX and deposited a 2 bed unit for exchange to New York City trying to get a fall month. I also have a request with RCI for the same time period. I wondering what I can expect.

2013 or 2014? How many TPUs do you have on your RCI week. If it is 2014 and you have enough TPUs (58-60) Manhattan Club is usually available a year out in RCI but you have to wait for a bulk deposit.

On the RCI weeks side, it will take 58-60 tpu to get a match in RCI and September 2014 weeks have been recently available. Hard to say for SFX, depends on what kind of member you are (Platinum or Diamond (??) members are first in line as requests can be made further out than for the free Gold members). And, of course, supply/demand...

I think SFX will come through. Overall, it will be a lot less expensive than using RCI, too.

With SFX Im using a 2 bed Oregon unit. With RCI Im using Worldmark points. RCI has a Worldmark number. I could drop another week in II or Platinum.

Guess what ? I used 9000 wm points in the RCI / WM exchange and pulled a Manhattan Club 1 bed 2 bath. It took two weeks. I think this week is costing me about $1040. I requested September and got the end of September so were happy. Called SFX to request time after this trip. It would be cool if the weeks ended up back to back.

RCI has a one in four rule for Manhattan Cluband now SFX has instituted a one in three restriction for all of Manhattan not just Manhattan Club so think about how you want to book this trip.

Two weeks now will mean none again for at least 3 years.

Be aware that the Manhattan Club charges a hefty resort fee for RCI exchangers. With SFX there is no charge.

I have made 3 exchanges to New York City, all with SFX. The first exchange was to the Manhattan Club, the second exchange was to HGVC West 57th Street and the last one was to the Hilton Vacation Club on Avenue of the Americas ( 6th Avenue ). Our favorite by far was the Hilton Vacation Club on 6th Avenue.

Yup, I was told that the daily maid service is $30 a day. I think Im only into this trip for the room .065 x 9000 = $585 for points +$199 exchange fee + $210 maid service = $994. Im not sure why I thought that Im in it for $1040.

Does MC have a occupancy tax on top of the exchange ?

SFX came through for us as well and we got confirmed for May 2014 at the Hilton west 57th street. I figured my cost including exchange fee was about $1,000 for 7 nights.
