  • Request first with Interval International

Ok II experts, since my last request first went so well I am considering doing another. However, there is a catch.

I am looking to setup a request for a week with a Friday to Friday check-in only. II doesn't have the flexiblity that RCI does to specificy check-in dates. My concern is that if it matches me for a Saturday to Saturday and I don't get some sort of chance to throw it back.

So, the question is whether or not there is any way to specificy only a specific check-in day or do I have to take my chances?

You can't specify a Friday check-in day, but you do get 24 hrs to cancel without any penalty. You would need to keep checking your account, so you don't miss the confirmation. Also, you can request to be notified by phone, but I would still keep checking the account, just to be safe.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Set up the search yourself and then call in and ask them to modify it so it only matches for Friday check ins. I don't have very much faith in the vacation guides in general but this type is one that I believe they can do and it works correctly (at least most of the time). Just to be on the safe side check any matches to make sure they are the day of the week that you want.

I get my confirmations by email and it seems pretty reliable. The ongoing searches are usually matched in the wee hours of the morning, so need to be canceled the same day. Though I've had success in getting them to cancel the following day based on the premise that I don't actually SEE them until the daytime.

I've done it both ways. Currently also have email notification......If you choose to be notified by phone, they will start the 24 hrs from the time of the phone call. This seems to buy you a little more time then emails, but they really do not hold you to the exact 24 hrs, either way, in my experience.

They have cancelled requests for me a few hours past the deadline for missing the email as well. They were very nice about it
