RCI Gold Crown requirements more location than facility oriented

Many in timesharing seem to have an incorrect impression of RCI Gold Crown requirements. There is much more of a location focus and much less of a failities focus than many seem to beleive.

Take the ''Required Amenities'' in the ''Resort Amenities'' categrory, of which a resort is required to have 2 (or have 1 plus 3 extra from the list of ''additional amenities'').

The location oriented amenities that are on the list are:
- Beach within 1 mile
- Golf within 5 miles
- Lake within 1 mile
- Major Metropolitan Area within 5 miles
- National Theme Park within 10 miles
- Ski Area within 5 miles
- Special Attraction within 10 miles

The facilities oriented amenities that are on the list are:
- Pool onsite
- Tennis onsite (10 court minimum, with pro onsite and pro shop)

Then there is the list of ''Additional Amenities'' of which 3 are required (or 6 if the resort only has 1 ''required amenity''). Many of these are also location oriented like:
- Casino within 5 miles
- Cinema/Theatre within 5 miles
- Grocery within 5 miles
- Hunting Area within 5 miles
- Live Entertainment within 5 miles
- Marina within 5 miles
- Miniture Golf within 5 miles
- Museum within 5 miles
- Restaurant/Snack Bar within 1 mile
- Shopping area within 5 miles
- Site-seeing tours within 10 miles

i'm sure they do......they are probably both giving higher than deserved ratings to the resorts that give them lots of business, or are owned by certain corporations......
