I still don't have a spring break vacation for next year so I'm looking around for almost anything that strikes my fancy.

There isn't much at all in anything larger than a studio for my timeframe. I'd like "Warm" by the end of March I am very tired of NY Winter.

Haven't been out to see Dear Old Dad in a while. Only property that comes up in SCal is Winners Circle 1 bdrm. So does anyone have first hand recent info? San Diego isn't really warm then though...

A 1 BDRM Welk at Cathedral City comes up for Palm Springs. That's warm but a bit farther from Dad then I'd like

Another alternate would be a 2BDRM Worldmark St George Utah. We so enjoyed Sedona last spring that maybe Bryce/Zion would be a nice trade.

or I can sit and continue waiting for my caribbean SW Florida trade to come through.

Lots of New Orleans available. We've never been there either.

    What would you do?

You have to go to New Orleans once in your life. If you go post-Mardi Gras the crowds are gone and the great food is still there!

Any interest in Mexico? That would fit the warm part of your description. There's a Grand Mayan week out there for 3/25/07 and Krystal/Cancun on 3/2 and 3/16

New Orleans is the place we try to hit every year. Go for it.

Well, I'm going to Vegas in March (snagged a two-bedroom at the Fairfield Las Vegas Grand Desert with my one bedroom at San Diego Country Estates). Las Vegas isn't my favorite vacation spot, but my younger dd and I went last summer primarily to see one of the Cirque shows and had a good time. So, we're heading back, hopefully to somewhat cooler weather than we hit during the summer.

          Winner's Circle

We stayed at Winner's Circle a few years ago. At that time the units had been renovated and were pretty nice. We had a one bedroom. It seems like a converted motel, so that it was really two motel rooms. The neat thing was we had 2 full bathrooms. If my memory serves me correct, the kitchen was smallish.

We liked the resort and area.

            Lawren,

I would start by narrowing down areas with affordable airfare or FF tix (if applicable). If Florida is included and appeals, maybe choose a central airport, make a backup hotel reservation (or t/s promo tour), and hope for a cancellation within 30 days?

Bryce/Zion is/are on my list of 'must get there' places.

Not t/s, but lots of folks hear are heading to the Dominican Republic b/c of the low cost at the All Inclusives...

I would be thinking New Orleans, Mexico or Dominican Republic. The DR is a very nice place to visit. Up to a few years ago no Americans were going to the DR, it was all Europeans visiting and vacating there. And it is a lot cheaper then Mexico and just as safe.

I just look for the DR for March. There is only one resort. Lifestyle Crown Villas in Playa Cofresi 1 Puerto Plata . That would not be my first choice.

That place is always available due to the $500/day mandatory AI fee My friends went last year to Sun Village, total cost was $1500 pp over Easter including Airfare from New York. They said the staff was great, beach was beautiful, food was not the best but they didn't mind. There are a bunch of AI places there, I had asked once for help in this regard on TUG, I can't find the thread, but this one has some good info:

FWIW the Bryce Zion area can have some snow in late March...don't forget that the Rockies are affected by spring snows and if you want to avoid any chances of getting snow, Mar/early April may be dicey time to choose...especially if you are wanting warmth.

                        Lawren,

Ken posted a hotel room sleeps 4/2 at the Reef Club Cozumel for 3/31... I would be wary of Cancun over spring break, but Cozumel might be nice.. the hotel room part is not ideal, of course...

It certainly looks like I did Mike.

I have been seeing a little bit more "nice" inventory again in the 90 days so I haven't given up hope....yet.
