  • this is ticking me off about RCI

Every time I try to exchange thru RCI, I get the same song and dance. Why don't you book two one bedroom units instead of one two bedroom unit.
Why - because between my maintenance fee and your exchange fee I could rent for cheaper even using one week, let alone two.
This has happened every time I do a search with a vg or make a call.
    Just wanted to vent!

I agree. I am thinking about selling most of my RCI only timeshares. RCI continual fee increases stink.

Things like this ( and my yet unfulfilled request with my tiger) have me packing my bags and leaving RCI in a hurry. It pains me to not be able to search summer 2008 but I'm holding up so far.

JMHO we can only speak with our feet.

I don't care for the price increases and lack of inventory/ plenty of rentals for all the weeks owners who are truly the backbone of their exchange system.

If you can find an alternate for what you want, I say give them a try. I have settled on a 2008 plan where alternative companies and internal trades plus renting our fixed Cape Cod week in 2007 will work for us. Even if I make my statement with my account and money for only a year or two it will make me feel that I AM protesting!

This from a HUGE RCI supporter in the past.

But if they do not raise prices, then Henry cannot get a "well-earned" bonus in 2006.

A lot of us have been there longer and they don't seem to be cutting us any slack!

That's one reason I am only going to buy at resorts I will actually use instead of only trading. It's too hard to find anything, and I don't have the time to search on the computer.

I am feeling pretty jazzed! Our RCI membership expires in June of next year, and we'll be done! All of our timeshares will exchange through SFX or II. I rejoined II only because we bought a Marriott, but that probably wasn't the greatest idea in the world. Anyway, no more RCI for us. Yea! Jean

Love is too strong a word for my feelings, but I'm off to a very nice exchange in about a week. Had three weeks in Hawaii in June. Two weeks in the British Isles already booked for next June.

I have more trouble using my II weeks, but once in a while I get a gem there also.

I don't understand RCI. My week account got automatically renewed to 2020. I didn't even pay for it. I notice someone add my newly acquired resort to the account and it wasn't me.
