'OY" there has been a sighting of a bulk deposit on Morritts Grand for 2008 with the HUGE exception of the first 15 weeks.

That's right folks! No first quarter weeks in the bulkbank.

and IF I was reconsidering renewing my membership with RCI beyond first quarter 2008 I wouldn't do it now if it were FREE.

Looks like no TS4M get together in Grand Cayman for Presidents week 2008 huh?

    Mr Bum,

Our new & improved RCI-less planning has Hawaii in the bulls-eye for summer 2008.

The only problem is us right-coaster require 2 weeks minimum because of travel time and timezone changes. So if you feel like planning it...

Sydney I am DYING to go to Australia. Will have to wait until after the school-aged child prison let's out...

Actually any get-together that is planned is GREAT by me. Just make it after mid-November when I get my life back from football please. <Unless the kids get to the playoffs, in which case my life will continue "on hold" for a while longer.

I have enough on my plate with the MUGS right now.

PS. No one else is FURIOUS over the lack of first quarter exchange ops with RCI? Am I the only one that even notices that things have gone to hell in a handbasket for primetime Caribbean/Florida?

Lawren, it's not that no one is outraged. It's just that it's old news in a sense. Availability with RCI has gone down the drain for ages now everywhere remotely prime time and location. We are just too jaded to even register a decent sense of exasperation.

So is there a retraction coming as Cindi's post clearly showed availability in those weeks. Maybe the "magic" of secret and ever flowing trade power means your week(s) just can't see it.

Anyway. That's five weeks. My mediocre trader didn't see anything.

                    John

I eat my words. I cannot check with my remaining week < which BTW is a Cape Cod summer> as I finally, finally after 18 months have gotten something from RCI that is acceptable < actually more than acceptable> for March 30, 2007.

I do not usually just take information like that and jump. The OP on TUG was someone I would expect to have researched and posted the entire year if that was what was actually there.

She used a very similar week to mine to see this and if a summer cape cod won't grab it there is not much that will.

So I recant part but not all of my original

It is a KNOWN FACT that first quarter weeks exchange availability has been dismal for the warmer climes for 2006, 2007 and I was looking for a reason to start screaming about 2008.

ETA - I DID ask about first quarter and the OP responded: They weren't there this morning when I posted this sighting, but they're there now.

                    Beats me!

Others have responded that they have seen them, then they "go away" but they have reappeared this afternoon/evening. I KNOW I searched that timeframe yesterday and first quarter, which is when my membership expires, was NOT THERE. Hence my tantrum.

                        What's Up With This?

Seriously, this place looks great. The boss agrees.

Is a group really planning on going to this resort?

We'll be at Siesta Key 1/12/08 and there is a 2-bedroom at this resort for 1/19/08.

Anyone know how to get there? From Tampa or Miami? And about how much airfare is?

                        Someone email me, or whatever.

Lawren - Glad to hear you got a good trade for that valuable summer CC.

I'm not so convinced that the lack of great trades is the fault of RCI manipulation rather than an awakening and self fulfilling thought that the best weeks will be used, privately rented or direct exchanged rather than placed with the big traders. Anyone who has paid any attention to the various timeshare boards over the past couple years would be foolish to risk a great trader in a week for week trade knowing theres a good chance they will get far less value out. Unless they feel they can beat the system why take the risk?

The manipulation that led to this isn't rentals or points but the twenty year record of II/RCI failing to return fair value for top deposits while catering to the lower value (but much higher volume = exchange $$) depositors. The free exchange of information via these sites has exposed that basic flaw and deposits of the best times aren't being made anymore. If RCI/II wants those units back they have to do a better job of ensuring an equal trade for all not just trade ups for the middle, massive volume customers.
