I really messed up.

I dinked around and drug my feet trying to decide whether to comfirm the Grand resort I had on hold for March 2008 in the Caymans.

Well, guess what? I forgot about the time change and I just got off the phone with NO ONE at RCI!! Yup, they are closed.

Is there any chance it will still show on hold tomorrow morning? Or does the computer automatically dump all held resorts at like midnight or something?

I could just kick myself!!

It automatically releases after 24-hours. The same thing happened to me once. And, I called RCI to ask them if it were 24-hours or end of the next business day. I was told end of the next business day. And, poof, it was gone.

I did the same thing and was kicking myself about a Paris week a month or so ago.

I went online as soon as RCI came back up, in the wee hours. I did a search and at first the week was not there, but then voila, it showed up and I was able to confirm it.

So, wait..........what time is the end of the business day? If they are already closed now, isn't that the end of the business day? As of right now, it still shows on hold.

I wonder if I can keep checking and try to snag it when it shows up again. Problem is, when will my deposit actually return to my account? It will probably go into the stupid damn automatic search mode and match me with some stupid no bedroom thing somewhere during the dead of summer! Hrumph!!

You could try to release it and pick it right back up again but there is risk there, if someone has an ongoing search you could lose it. If you have another unit to trade you could start your own ongoing search with it to try to snag it before anyone else.

The only thing you can do now is wait until late tonight. Release it and try to grab it back.

OR

Try calling them late tonight and hope that the Ireland call center is open.

I just checked and it is still showing on hold right now.

I even sent RCI an email asking if someone could confirm it for me. I suppose there really is no one around but the janitors right now. Is it possible someone might answer the phone later in the evening??

I am tempted to try to release it and then grab it again.

Unfortunately, I don't have another week spacebanked with the power necessary to see this week. I can only pull the Tortiga with my week in there now.

Doggone it, I wish you could confirm it online!! Especially since they waived the 1 in 5 thing for the time being. Drat!

Let us know what happens. I put a unit on hold and decided we wanted it so got up in the middle of the night to confirm it before I forgot. Live and Learn. I have learned that when an opportunity you want is out there, you have to jump on the chance before it is gone. I have hesitated and lost several.

In my opinion, releasing it is releasing it, whether you do it now or the computer does it in the middle of the night.

You may lose some sleep tonight but chances are you can recover the week. Wait until (what time zone is ND? CT?) midnight et. Release it and try to grab it back.....

We'll have some pina coladas on GCM yet.
