    Press Releases

The Registry Collection Web site Provides Glimpse of the Finest in Luxury Vacation Exchange

    May 23, 2006

    May 23, 2006 –The Registry Collection Ò , the world’s largest
luxury exchange program, has introduced a new Web site

to showcase its expanding services for the high-end luxury leisure assets market.

Representing luxury leisure travel at its finest, The Registry Collection program offers its members top-of-the-line accommodations at some of the world’s premier destinations as well as members-only access to a myriad of personal concierge services that are available 24 hours a day.

“Membership in The Registry Collection exchange program gives travelers the ability to enjoy all of the comforts of home as well as magnificent amenities and high class service,” said Kenneth N. May, chairman and chief executive officer of the RCI Global Vacation Network, which offers The Registry Collection exchange program. “We have hand-selected the residences that are part of this portfolio and each one represents the very best in terms of construction, décor, surroundings, activities and overall experience.”

On The Registry Collection Web site, visitors can browse luxury accommodations by the specific name or locale, or search for properties by type of destination – from coast, countryside and lake to metropolitan and mountain. There are also options to view residences that match areas of interest, such as skiing, golf or spa services. In addition, the site provides a photo gallery for each property and Web site visitors can watch unique, narrated videos that provide an in-depth tour of particular properties. (The Registry Collection provides the professional photography and videography as part of the benefits of becoming an affiliate.)

The Web site is intended to provide a thorough look at the entire portfolio of options within The Registry Collection, and it also lists regional contact information for The Registry Collection program so members can call and receive personal assistance in the reservation process.

With more than 11,000 members and growing, The Registry Collection exchange program caters to the expanding luxury vacation market. Properties are located throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and South Africa. Affiliations in Asia and Australia are expected to be coming soon.

The Grand Mayan in Mexico exchanges with the Registry Collection and so does our resort where we have a timeshare but nobody, I know, seems to use them and I read complaints that hardly any resorts are available for making an exchange so what's the use? Our resort (Grand Velas) exchanges with RCI too but gave us the choice to go over to the Registry Collection but we didn't join because we never exchange and it is more expensive too.

If you google here for the Registry Collection, you will find more posts or go to the other timeshare forum as I have seen posts there too about this exchange company.

Thought I might resurrect this thread. This morning I saw a new resort in Williamsburg available in RCI Points and it is part of "Registry Collection"

        http://www.theregistrycollection.com...try_portfolio/

So I'm wondering if they have given up on this idea and are just putting the highly priced weeks in the points pool instead.

Parkside Williamsburg is not listed on the Registry's webpage. I'm having a hard time reconciling the location with the ultimate luxury branding...although The Crane certainly fits the criteria.

I've got a Parkside Lodge t-shirt, only that outfit was about 10 miles away went out of business. Sure couldn't have been a lack of customers as it was a detox place.

            new development

The new fractional timeshare development on the coast in Carlsbad/Encinitas California promotes that it is part of the Registry Collection.

See this thread for more details on the development:

I just noticed that Grand Pacific Palisades in Carlsbad is part of the Registry Collection as well.

Are you a member automatically? I remember that one of our resorts was or still is a member of this collection when it first started but I never heard a follow-up. We are not members so you have to apply or sign up. I don't know anyone who has used them at our resort because most people we talk to over there stay at the resort ever year and do not exchange. Is it worth it now since they are adding more resorts? It's probably more expensive than RCI or II.
