  • Heading to Kona Hawaii 11/18

Leaving for a week to Hawaii. Seems like much to see but so little time.

What were your favorite things to see and do.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

We mostly spend our time at the Volcano National Park but that is quite far away from Kona so we stay near the park or in the park and we have stayed in Hilo too. There is enough to see there like the Akaka falls and the semi tropical forest. Hilo has much more rain but it doesn't last long and has beautiful rainbows too.

Snorkeling at Honaunau Bay near the Place of Refuge. You may not get to snorkel at the Cook Monument this trip unless access to Kaleakakua Bay has been cleared by the time you get there.

Drinks/light dinner/sunset in the sand at Huggo's on the Rocks

If you do get to Hilo, I second the suggestion for a stop at Akaka Falls. Beautiful foliage, incredible scents, and great falls too.
