I've got a sticky problem. I've got an exchange into a beach resort and just got a letter from RCI saying the resort is going to be doing major rebuilding of their beach with heavy equipment, right when I'm supposed to be there. RCI says we can cancel but their normal cancellation policy applies. I don't think that's fair at all, since the beach is really the only thing I'm going for, and it's the only thing for miles around. It's not a shopping, dining or clubbing mecca in other words. Also because of my bum right eye I don't like to drive if I don't have to, and I don't want to be forced to drive to another beach just for some peace and quiet.
Has anyone ever had any luck getting RCI to waive the loss of the exchange fee when cancelling an exchange?
