  • Please help me understand II exchanging

    OK,

Here's what I think. Please tell me if I'm wrong.

I have a 2BR Aruba Surf club. I want to lock it off and deposit both sides to II. Now I have a 1BR and a studio. I want a 2BR somewhere.

Just for instance, say there is a 2BR disney and a 1BR disney available. If it's not during flexchange, am I not able to get the 2BR disney since I don't have a 2BR to trade? Will a 2BR even show up for me?

Now duing flexchange, I think I can take anything that's available, even a 3BR, correct?

So, is my only chance at trading a 1BR or studio for a 2BR during flexchange?

Please help me understand. I'm sooooooooooooo confused.

    vacationlover2,

II does not allow you to place a request for a two bdrm with a studio or 1 bdrm, unless the resort only has 2+ bdrms. For instance, Marriott Newport Coast in CA, and Marriott Seaview Villas only has 2 bdrms. So, you can use your 1 bdrm to request a 2 bdrm at these resorts. There are other resorts that only have 2+ bdrms. If you are looking for shoulder/off season, you will most likely get your trade.

The other option is to do searches using your units. That is really the best way to find out what your unit will pull. If you see it, you can grab it. In flexchange, you will pull most everything, even with your studio.

Edited to add: Even tho you can not place a request for a 2 bdrm using a 1 bdrm, you will see them when you do searches, even out of the flexchange period. When I search with my 1 bdrm, I see 2 bdrms all the time, in shoulder seasons.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
