  • Do I need to lock off before looking?

If I have a 2 BR Marriott lock off unit, can I Look on II to see what each side of the lock off will exchange for without locking off first?

Depending on what I see and what each half would pull versus the whole unit I may or may not want to lock off; needless to say, if I decide to use the unit or trade the unit as a whole I'd rather not pay the lock off fee.

Since I'm new to this (will first be joining II)- my purchase just closed - I kinda wanted to play.

Any "how to" suggestions would be really appreciated. I feel like I've already taken a course from you guys here and on Tug. Thanks so much for all your guidance!!!!!

Once you have added your resort to your II account, you'll see three different configurations in II for your week when you go to the Exchange section: your entire unit, the master part of your unit and your lockout. Make up an eight-digit reservation number starting with "8" and you can search with all three separately.

No need to reserve and deposit first. In fact, you shouldn't until you are sure of what you want to do. If for example, you lock your week off and make two separate deposits, you can't put them back together again in your II account. However, I think the majority of people lock off and deposit the separate portions of the week to get two weeks of vacation; more if eligible for an AC.
