  • I think that Utah, Park City and Snowbird are the most difficult trades.

Since I have been doing searches, I have seen most everything. Even the rare ones such as Sanibel & Marco Island in Winter, Westin's Hawaii, Haborside, St Johns, Pretty much all of Hawaii in winter & summer, So. California & HH, in summer, Aruba in winter, Disney year round, Four Season's, etc. I have seen many of these come up during flexchange, even holidays, & 3 bdrms.

There is so little available for Utah, Park City and Snowbird, in winter. Even during flexchange, you are lucky to see a 1 bdrm. I would guess that a prime week, 2 bdrm, would be as good a trader as most anything else out there.

Since I don't have access to RCI, I don't know if it is the same story there. I only search II.

With II, you are correct if you are talking winter weeks. Summer and mud weeks, even at the Marriotts, are not hard to pick up.

RCI has a few 'lesser' (imho) places that come up 2 years out for ski weeks.

Holiday ski weeks at any resort there and all ski weeks at the Marriotts rent at pretty high numbers, so they don't get deposited.

yes, I am talking about prime winter weeks. Geez, they just never show up. I think that I saw every Marriott during flexchange for either Xmas or New Year. Some, 3 bdrms, but, not Utah. I only saw a studio.

I think that I have seen fewer of them, then anything else. Followed by the Caribbean, such as St. John's, Harborside, etc.

The thing is that I would have expected it with the Caribbean, but I'm surprised that Utah never shows up.

There is far less II inventory in Park City than the Caribbean... but please still wake me at any hour if you see a 1 bedroom at Marriott Mountainside for 2/17 checkin

eta: Faust is posting the RCI sightings for ski weeks next year; if you check some reviews you'll see what I mean. There were some holiday weeks there a while back, too, but they're gone.

Take a look at RCI Exchange Opportunities.

I took a look...I see that RCI does have availability in Utah. I can tell you that II does not. You almost never see winter weeks in Utah, in II.

I have to start looking at RCI more frequently. Since I never had any dealings with them, I tend not to look that often. Are the timeshares in Utah that RCI has available nice units? Just curious.

I'll wake you, don't worry. I wouldn't count on it tho.

                Angela,

The Ex Ops that Ken posted are mostly at standard resorts with very average reviews, with the exception (I think) of the Cliffs Club at Snowbird. They do not come anywhere close to the Marriotts you are accustomed to... still, many people would rather get to ski Park City than worry about what the rooms/resort is like.

Thanks, I was just curious. I think that if I ever came across a really good buy at a nice timeshare there, I would consider buying it. I bet it is a great trader in II.

Do you ever see Westgate Park City in II?

I own a 2BDR unit there and I have never traded it because I use it for my own family ski week. I may deposit the sudio portion in February 2007, but I may keep it and simply spread out...

I have never seen a (real) ski week. The problem with a studio in II is that you will be limited in terms of size of exchange and you won't get an AC for it. If it were me, I'd keep it and use it to be comfortable or bring friends.

Park City is hard but Whistler ski week are even harded in II. Because there is only one of the Whistler resorts which trade in only II. The other six whistler resorts which II lists are all pushing their owner toward RCI, so very few II deposits.

Yes, Whistler is very rare also. Not sure which one is more difficult to get. I have been concentrating on Utah for a while now, and am very surprised that I never see any good weeks.
