  • Early Deposit Question

I have an Orlando week 25 (I know Orlando is overbuilt)...knowing that, is it a slim chance to get a east coast or even say Myrtle Beach week even if I request 1-2 years in advance.

I was under the impression that the sooner you deposited a week for exchange, the more likelyhood of a confirmation?

RCI states that maximum trading power exists the sooner you deposit...Personal experience, I dunno.

Myrtle beach could be a tough trade depending on what your trading. What time of year. Existing specebanks. You name it, different factors exist.

If you can deposit and do live searching,(rci or interval) you'll get a feel for how quirky this can be. Even late night searches provide much different results.

Many say, much more than 18 months out provides nothing more. Also, on the other hand, you could get a lot of trading opportunites, 4 weeks or less before check-in. Again, you just have to get a feel for it.

As an example, my so-so red studio deposit just pulled one good resort for 07. 2 good resorts for 08. Summer weeks for Myrtle Beach.

    Hope this offered some help.

    Good luck !

You have a much better chance of getting Myrtle Beach, or Hilton Head, if you can go toward the end of the summer. Because the schools down south start sooner than up north, there is usually availability the last two weeks in August. The first week in September is even better, if you can go then.

      Good luck!!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Last I heard a trading power bonus is added to deposits one year or more prior to the occupancy date. It's not a big thing, but it does help a little. The early you start a search or start looking, the more likely you will find what you are looking for. Week 25 is not such a bad week for Orlando- there are only eight weeks that show a higher demand and it's the highest demand summer week (II demand index).

Does II show more availability if you deposit first or request first? The book makes it sound as though you have more options if you deposit your week first.

I could also belong to RCI, Celebrity is now affiliated with both exchange companies. Does RCI carry more inventory?

With RCI - CALLthem for a search. Do NOT go online - these are the "afterthoughts".

I seem to have better luck trading Orlando resorts with II than with RCI.
