"Other similar intervals for exchange or rent" is what I normally stick in my ads.

Personally, I don't know why they mess with this stuff. I put exchange verbage in my rental ads and vice-versa. Why pay twice...

FWIW, at NCV, I noted the exchange ads up from none to nine last I looked..... for a long time, back when the exchange ads were free, mine was the only ad there. Oh, yeah, I'm enjoying the "forum" there too...baffle 'em with timeshare-speak

This BBS does have a for trade forum in the classifer. Although nobody use it yet.

Any redweek success stories?

I don't know of anyone who has done a Redweek direct exchange nor have I had any results and I've been attempting to exchange our NCV intervals through there since 2004. Even though I've had great success with Redweek historically, I'll be the first to say that this year it's been dead. That could be a function of NCV stuff saturating the market or Redweek losing lookers or the people's confidence changing with regards to vacationing. Don't know. Definitely different than in the past though, IMO.

I just got an email from someone in response to my direct exchange ad that I put out there when I first saw this thread. I had completely forgotten about it. I'll let you know if it works out.

We couldn't work out the dates but the person on the other side says they do direct exchanges only and have had enough success to no longer need an exchange company. It helps that they own 7 units and have no problem using what they own.

I've had several nibbles, no bites yet. I'm offering really good stuff, and I've gotten some pretty mediocre offers. But I thank them for their inquiries anyway...at least they try!

That's generally the issue I have with direct exchangers. They want one of my premium weeks and locations for fall Orlando week. I can pick those up on last calls any time I want. I think that is part of the issue with RCI and II. A lot of people deposit their low-quality weeks and expect to stay on Marco Island during the summer. I'm all for the direct exchanges, since I don't like paying the trade fees.
